Gentle but peated with interesting taste and complexity

Last week I replaced my finished Quarter Cask with this unfiltered and uncoloured Triple Wood.
Before beeing botlled at 48%, it had triple maturation. Bourbon, quarter and oloroso casks.
Clear traces of all three can be found troughout te tasting.
Starting of the nosing with the bourbon part, a sweet vanilla and caramel at front. Followed by nutty wood and a floral touch. Orange, lemon and a rubbery salty peat, covered with tones of sherry complete this very allround nosing.
Sweet smoke on the taste. A lot sweeter, but less
tarry/peaty than other Laphroaig's I tasted.
The bourbon caramel and the oloroso sherry fruits are also present.
The spicy part comes from clove pepper and liquorice.
The medium/dry/spicy/peaty/sweet/sherry finish has a lot to offer and discover.
That said, this is a strange one.
It definitely has more layers and components than the QC but strangely enough it feels less balanced.
I brought this one to a tasting last saturday where it coincidently had its turn after the QC.
All 7 contributers gave there thumb's up for the 10€ cheaper brother of this TW.
After this one is finished, the QC gets it's spot on my shelf back again.
Still a descent 88 points.

On the nose I get notes from the bourbon and sherry barrels, in particular I get vanilla, raisin and apricot. The palate is a smoldering campfire with earthy flavor from the peat as well as fruity notes from the sherry casks. The finish is long and spicy with notes of cinnamon and smoke and a hint of vanilla at the very end. This is an excellent dram.

TL/DR - nice smokey scotch with a fair amount of peat but enough sweetness to be very drinkable
Aroma - peat and wood
Taste - initial semi sweet sherry gives way to a mid flavor burn with a smokey finish reminiscent of a nice camp fire
Mouth feel - full bodied

Great peated whisky. Not too extreme yet very powerful. Great price as well.

This is my favorite of the Laphroaig line of scotches. It has the right amount of peat, smoke, and sweetness.

Not that smokey for a laphroaig single malt whisky. Smooth with a hint of woodyness mixed with sherry. Very good in my opinion!

The best peated whisky I have tasted so far. You can feel it has matured in ex-bourbon barrels. A notable progress from the basic 10 year old.

Like getting a punch in the face from a boxer who's wearing velvet boxing gloves. My favorite Laphroaig thus far.
peat, hints of red fruit, peach. A whiff of iodine. A wet townsquare, where the fish market took place until two hours ago.
heavy peat in a sherried wrapping. Salt, ash, vanilla, smoke and red fruit. The characteristic Laphroaig band aid signature, but this time in a velvety package.
creamy Chocolate, bitter coffee and a fading mix of gentle spices and sweet peatsmoke.

Smooth medicinal flavor with hints of vanilla oak all shrouded in smoke and peat. The finish is long and savory!

피트감 충만한 첫향과 다르게 동그랗게 말아들어가는 부드러운 맛이 너무 기분좋음 맛있다
