Laphroaig Càirdeas 2019 revealed

Laphroaig distillery has revealed the 2019 edition of the annual Càirdeas release, a bottling reserved exclusively for the Friends of Laphroaig and for the Fèis Ìle festival on Islay. Laphroaig Càirdeas Triple Wood Cask Strength has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by maturation in quarter casks and ex-oloroso sherry casks. It’s bottled at cask strength (51.4% abv) without chill filtration and will be sold online for £77 (€89 / $99) per 70cl bottle. Jura unveils 21 Year Old single malt duo

Whyte & Mackay has announced a pair of 21 year old Jura single malt whiskies at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore. The new releases fit within Jura’s new range, which was updated around a year ago. Jura 21 Year Old Time is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in ex-peated whisky casks, before being bottled at 47.2% abv. Compass Box updates label and recipe of The Peat Monster

The Peat Monster, Compass Box’ heavily peated blended malt, has a distinctive new design. The old brown label will be replaced by a more colorful one, which The Painting Label. Walsh Whiskey has created a new core expression for it’s Writers’ Tears range: Writers’ Tears Double Oak, a blend of the two whiskey styles aged in two types of wood – American and French Oak. It is triple-distilled, non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV.
