Glengoyne launches 7th Cask Strength single malt

Glengoyne Distillery has announced the launch of Cask Strength Batch No. 007. It’s the first in their Cask Strength collection to feature a small proportion of bourbon barrels in the cask recipe, besides the usual first-fill American and European oak Oloroso sherry casks. John Glass, Malt Master at Glengoyne Distillery, explains: “The bourbon parcel we used in the distillation of Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 007 brought in a sweetness and a burst of vanilla, which adds a roundness and depth to this sherry-dominant whisky. Sazerac launches Mister Sam Blended Whiskey

Sazerac has announced the release of Mister Sam Tribute Whiskey, a limited edition blended whiskey created to pay tribute to late Seagram’s leader Sam Bronfman. This blend of Canadian and American whiskeys comes in a wooden box that includes a copy of ‘From Little Acorns’, a book written by Sam Bronfman in 1970 about the history of the Seagram’s company. Fittingly, the blend’s recipe was created by Sazerac Master Blender Drew Mayville, a native Canadian now living in Kentucky. The English Whisky Co. announces new Virgin Oak matured single malt

The Roudham, Norfolk-based The English Whisky Co. have announced the release of a new Small Batch Release whisky. This single malt was distilled in July 2013 and spent its life in virgin American oak casks, until bottling in March 2019. Only 2.689 bottles of this English single malt whisky are available world wide. Highland Park announces first wine cask finished single malt

Rioja news from the island of Orkney: Highland Park Distillery has announced the release of their very first Spanish Rioja wine cask matured single malt: Twisted Tattoo. Casks have a major influence on the flavour of whisky, driving both natural colour and distinctive character through the cask wood and its seasoning. Whisky Rumours: Spring 2019 Edition

In the United States, all alcoholic beverage manufacturers must submit the labels of their products to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for approval. These labels are published on the TTB website under the Freedom of Information Act, which means that they’re available to see before the whiskies are released.
