Our mission is to make sure you find a whiskey that you love so you can sip confidently. We do this through our extensive whiskey database and recommendation engine that works to find the whiskey that fits you best. The recommendation feature is only available through the Android or iOS application and will activate after you add 10 reviews to your profile. If you’re just looking to browse, our top 10 lists are a great place to start. If those don’t work, you can check out our blog, Twitter, or Facebook to see what we’ve been sipping on lately. If all else fails, grab a bottle of Old Crow from the bottom shelf of your local liquor store; it’s guaranteed to be whiskey every time!
-> Why isn’t my favorite whiskey listed?
While Whisky Suggest has one of the largest databases of whiskey available, the mad scientists at distilleries across the globe keep coming out with more! We need your help to keep up with them, so if you don’t see your favorite whiskey, ‘Add’ or ‘Suggest’ a whiskey through the Android or iOS application by snapping a picture, filling out some basic whiskey info, and clicking submit. Once submitted, it’ll pass through our team for a quick review, then it’ll be up on the site for others to find an enjoy! For information on submitting a whiskey, read this article.
-> How did you gather all whiskey reviews, tasting notes and ratings?
We five here at Whisky Suggest drink our fair share of whiskey, but it would be impossible to compile a database this large without your help. We gather reviews and tasting notes directly from you. This allows our database to represent the world of whiskey, not just a single region. Without the rating, tasting, and review data that you submit via the Android or iOS applications, our recommendation engine and flavor profile pages would not exist and a world of whiskey would be lost to thirsty drinkers.
-> How do you recommend whiskeys to me?
Our recommendation engine uses machine learning to analyze the flavor profile of the whiskeys you’ve rated highly and finds a whiskey with a similar taste profile that we think you’ll love. We’re working on improving this feature, so once you get a chance to sip a dram of your recommendations, let us know how we did through the contact us page on the website or through the feedback button on either the Android or iOS applications.
-> I can’t find any of my recommended whiskeys for sale in my area.
First off, that isn’t a question. Secondly, whiskey stocks are notoriously hard to pin down due to each country, state, province, county, and even city having different regulations. As a result, inventories will vary store to store and day to day. The best thing to do is to head wherever fine whiskeys are sold near you and use the bottle scanner in either the Android or iOS applications. By scanning a barcode in the store, you’ll be immediately presented with reviews and ratings for that specific whiskey and you’ll be able to find the one that best suits you!

We just need a chance to get to know you first! Once you’ve rated and reviewed 10 whiskeys on your profile in the Android or iOS application, we’ll be able to give you customized recommendations that will match your unique flavor profile.
