About Lowlands

The Lowlands region is one of the smallest whisky producing regions of Scotland. Not in size, but by number of (active) distilleries. Only six are currently still active.

The currently active Lowlands distilleries are Ailsa Bay, Auchentoshan, Bladnoch and Glenkinchie. Annandale and Daftmill are also active, and fairly new Lowlands distilleries, but both have not released any bottlings yet. Some other well-known, but now closed Lowlands distilleries are Ladyburn, Littlemill and Rosebank.
