Whisky Suggest App improvements (& WIN!)

Earlier this year, we asked for your opinion about the Whisky Suggest App. We received heaps of praise, but a lot of useful feedback, too. This included several comments about the whisky search. The app’s whisky search results were not optimal, so we gave our developers one important task: fix it.

During the past few weeks, we’ve implemented a few changes that make whisky searching a lot easier. We updated the search algorithm and added a bunch of new barcodes, so both the barcode and text search have improved significantly.

Try the app & WIN whisky

We’re very curious to hear what you think. In fact, we’re so curious, that we’re giving away a bottle of Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition – a double matured Speyside single malt, bottled at 43%. After aging in oak casks it has been finished in Spanish sherry casks, which results in a rich, fruity whisky with a slightly spicy touch.

How can you win?

It’s very simple: download the Whisky Suggest App for Android or iOS, give it a try and rate and review the app via Google Play or in Apple’s App Store. Then, send a copy of your review to feedback@whiskysuggest.com. That’s it.

Have you participated in our previous contest? Then you’ve automatically entered this contest, too. You don’t have to do anything, unless you want to update your original review, or if you want to share additional feedback.

Just to be very, very clear: we are not asking you to give us positive reviews, we are asking you to share your honest feedback. If you don’t like our app, feel free to rate it poorly and to shout at us for failing. We want to hear it, so we can learn from it and improve our app. It doesn’t matter if you leave a positive or a negative review, you will have a chance to win one of the lovely whiskies either way.

Make sure to send us your app feedback no later than the 21st of April. The winners will be announced on April 24th 2017.

Can we please have our whisky collection available OFF LINE. This is so we can check our list in the shops. Also when I set the filters for the collection can they remain and not return to a default. Otherwise the app is great and thanks for all your work to date.

@Griff - Good point, we'll take a look at how that can be improved.

@Ralf - When you tap your photo in the navigation, you end up on your profile page. You can access your wishlist there.

@Kees - That's a good tip, we'll see if we can implement that. Thanks!

I've beendet using the App for some time now and I have to say that I really love the Whisky scan. I also like the search functionality which makes it easy to add a Whisky to the collection or wish list. But here comes the criticism: Where can I actually find the Wishlist? I cannot find it in the menu. I can download it but I'd like to see it in the App. Is that possible?

Just downloaded the app, because I was looking for an app similar to Untapped, but for whiskey. This seems to be pretty close so far. I like the bar code scanner option. However, it doesn't seem efficient. I constantly have to back out to scan something new. If there is a way to not back all the way out when scanning a second bottle, please tell me. That is so far my only complaint- being able to scan multiple bottles more easily.
