Rabbit Hole’s First Single Barrel Pick

The bourbon industry in Kentucky has generally been firmly rooted in tradition, with many of the big players operating in some form for many decades now. Rabbit Hole Distillery is not one of those traditional big players. Founded only in 2012 right in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky, Rabbit Hole is at the forefront of the craft bourbon renaissance. I am a big fan of their entire lineup of products, and pretty excited about their recent, more unique offerings.

In celebration of National Bourbon Day on June 14th, Rabbit Hole is releasing its first ever single barrel pick bourbon. Taking the “single barrel” concept to the extreme, they are literally only releasing one barrel. That’s only 144 bottles to kick off their broader single barrel program! This release will feature a cask strength single barrel bottling of their highly popular Heigold bourbon.

Unfortunately for many of you, (myself included), you will need to be at their Louisville distillery in-person on the 14th to have an opportunity to purchase this unique release. If this is you, you can RSVP here to hopefully get your hands on this one-of-a-kind bourbon!

Father’s Day is Coming Soon

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and do you know what Dad wants this year to celebrate? The answer is whiskey! As you are probably well aware, Whisky Suggest has a database of thousands of whiskeys that the special dads in your life will love! We are constantly adding new bottles, as well as more ratings and reviews! We are here to help you find the perfect bottle just for him.

And if you are that special dad, maybe you are looking for a not so subtle way to let your loved ones know you want a bottle of whiskey to celebrate the day. Did you know you can share your wishlist with others, even non-app users? Simply sign in to the app, and start adding whiskeys to your wishlist. Then, open up your wishlist from your main profile, and select “Share Wishlist” at the bottom. This will generate a custom link for you to share. Copy and paste that in an email or text, and let the family know exactly what they can get you!

Whatcha Drinkin?

Tonight, I cracked open a bottle of Rockfilter Distillery’s Rail Splitter Bourbon. Rockfilter is a small, craft distillery from Spring Grove, Minnesota in the United States. They focus mainly on all organic bourbons made from ingredients “planted, tended, milled & distilled” all on site by the owners.

Uniquely distilled from a mix of corn and triticale, Rail Splitter is distinctly bourbon while clearly something more. Triticale is a traditional grain that is somewhere between wheat and rye, giving Rail Splitter a sweetness and spiciness not found in many other drams.

Kentucky is known as bourbon country here in the States, but it’s always fun sampling bourbons from other regions of the country, as they all bring a different take to the whiskey.
