I've found they can be "prickly" above 46%. Not always a bad thing. This drop, at 60 % ABV, whilst certainly hot (spicy) on the mouthfeel, is a superb smooth dram. Lovely dark sherry in colour - oily on the taster: I found Christmas cake (appropriate) & chocolate, sherry & fruit, a powerful extremely pleasant finish. It's a winner, [in moderation] for best mates only! If you try it, sniff your empty glass 👍. Therein lies the guts of this superb NAS drop! I'm new to this - it doesn't need to be old to be good.
Dried fruit, fruit cake & chocolate; certainly bites the nose close up!
Again, it bites reminding its a cask strength, but theres a sweetness & pleasure in that first sip. Trifle dessert, the fruits & sherry just hang in, then floraly & tame at the back - it sticks 👍.
Its a punch, 💥 but magnificent, medium to long - delicious.
