General description
Slight red berries, plenty of ginger, some honey, some roasted nuts, spearmint, a hint of tobacco, malty booziness (but not harsh). Juicy at first, then drying, with some novacaine-like mouth numbing, with barrel oak showing up a lot late in the finish, but then cycling through the other flavours, one or two notes at a time. It's solid, but doesn't really stand out (it covers the common 21 year old whiskey notes) or have as much sherry cask influence (it tastes more like it was finished for a year in it rather than aged exclusively in refilled sherry casks, like it actually was).
