Very good. Vanilla spice and herbal notes. Good bourbon for a good price
It was good. There was a grassy and herbal notes. It had some sweetness and a definite burn on the tongue.
Erg fijne kruidige bourbon. Leuke prijs ook!
This is just a good budget bourbon. Honestly for the price alone I’ll buy it again. It’s good but not a lot of complexity, but it’s cheap. Can’t complain.
Great nuances with character of oak barrel, fudge, vanilla and peanuts.
Nuanced smell of oak barrels, some white chocolate and vanilla.
Some butter caramel, oak barrels, some tobacco, peanuts, vanilla fudge.
Smooth with some spicy tones of tobacco.
słodki, żytni, spoko choć na dłuższą metę wolałbym coś innego
dry, very little sweetness, little spice, lots of barrel
With little to no alcohol on the nose, Bulleit is a popular bourbon commonly found in most drinking establishments here in the states. If one likes a big yeasty dram with not much sweetness nor complexity and a few fruits peeking in and out, then this is the one for you. Regular readers know I enjoy my whiskeys neat, so it is with uncertainty I say this may be a fine spirit to be used as a mixer. To enjoy without water, ice or other additives, I suggest a pass on this one.

*Bulliet's own website claims "Bulleit Distilling Co.", however many internet articles attribute Four Roses to have been the supplier until approximately 2015/16, afterwhich credit has been attributed to MGP. In 2016 Bulleit broke ground on their own distillery but it will be years before it will be able to produce spirits. As of this writing, additional non-whiskey controversy abounds at Bulleit and Diageo.
For the evaluation, I shared the juice neat from Glencairn glasses with my daughter and fellow WhiskeySuggest reviewer Hannah009. For an additional opinion on this bourbon please review Hannah's thoughts found elsewhere on this site.
The rating below is similar to my reviews of Knob Creek 09 yr Small Batch and Wild Turkey 101.
Upon first nosing, Bulleit Bourbon has no alcohol presence but does entertain with aromas of faint floral blossoms with an herbal aire. There is also a strange mixture of sweet corn, a little fresh apple, lemon and orange marmalade. Huge amounts of yeasty bread and biscuits nearly overshadow faint spices of powdered ginger, white pepper, and rye. There is not much sweetness coming to the nose but faint vanilla and simple syrup do waft gently in and out among an undefined nuttiness and a piney aroma. Occasionally there is a slight tickling, but in the end, this dram does not wow the olfactory senses.
A quick bite followed by a slight burn enteres the mouth after the first sip, probably owing to the high rye content. The heat soon subsides to a soothing warmth as light fruit and the herbal essence of mown hay play on the tongue. As the mouth is coated during the occasional chew, an odd mix of fruit --- bitter and acidic orange marmalade, plum, prune and fig give way to a green vegetable aftertaste. For me, Bulleit is a ho-hum bourbon with with only black pepper and rye spice to mix it up with simple syrup and faint hazelnuts. The liquid's light colouring may be an indication of limited aging in the barrel. Any wood in the juice comes through as a light toasting of a little dry oak.
Balance, Body, Feel and Look:
As one might guess, I feel this is a disappointingly unbalanced whiskey; the odd mixture of fruits, herbalness, spice and lack of sweet just don't do it for me. I also get a coppery tickle ... like sucking on an old penny ... which kind of counters the mellow-to-buttery mouthfeel. Inside the Glencairn, a nice inverted crown and long clinging legs do coat to entertain the eye.
Bulleit finishes with a medium punch. There is a nice throat warming and plenty of deep oak in the empty Glencairn but the green vegetable and bitter aftertaste is disappointing. I just don't get why this is such a popular choice for many at the bar - maybe it's for those who like bourbons as mixers.
This reveiw was prompted by a request from one of our followers and is long overdue. Jack Daniels is arguably the world's most well known and widely consumed whiskeys. Gentleman Jack is their next tier offering. I found this whiskey to be simple, with not much complexity to entertain the senses. Its nose has some interesting elements, and it is easy to drink, but it finishes quites short with little to remember.

*Jack Daniels products are filtered through 10 feet of compacted sugar maple charcoal as it comes out of the still, before the liquid is put into barrels. Known as the Lincoln County process, the charcoal filtering has a mellowing effect on the alcohol. After aging, juice destined to become Gentleman Jack is given a second charcoal filtration before bottling. Additional filtering purifies and decreases oakiness, further mellowing and sweetening the whiskey.

ENJOYMENT METHOD:
For the evaluation, I shared the juice neat from Glencairn glasses with my daughter and fellow WhiskySuggest reviewer Hannah009.
Check out her review for this whiskey elsewhere on the app!
When first brought to the nose, I get aromas of faint fingernail polish and a sweet potpourri of light red berry nectar, possiblely marachino cherries and hints of banana. Spices of powdered ginger and white pepper are also faint and gave a certain yeastiness. I sense an overwhelming sweetness of light vanilla custard, circus peanuts and sweet hard candy. Yet this is is a fresh and simple whiskey.
The first sip gives my mouth and throat a surprising but highly subdued burn as the juice gives way to a warm perfume of light fruit potpourri and an herbal aftertaste. I had to check the ABV! The marachino cherry and banana fruits sensed on the nose now come through on the palate and compliment spices of cinnamon and cloves. The sweetness sensed on the nose is also lessened yet the vanilla custard mixes with kraft caramels and simple syrup. There are also hints of bittet walnut, light oak, and the smokey sweetness of toasted wood.
Balance, Body, Feel and Look:
Gentleman Jack is a simple balance of aromas and flavors with not much going on. The nose is sweeter than the palate and the juice is gentle, mellow and smooth. In the Glencairn, a curtain of thin liquid falls into the lightly colored russet pool, leaving a long lasting crown of clinging droplets.
This Tennessee whiskey finishes short and offers a little light fruit warmth. It is quite simple and leaves an herbal and clovey but dry aftertaste. Any woodiness has been mellowed away and is quite light and I find it hard to define as either oaky or mapley.

it's alright
spicey and sweet
Vanilla caramel oak sweet syrup spice citrus char
Very smooth...easy drinker
Lightly spiced, a bit of heat on the tongue and no real aftertaste.
No nonsense bourbon. A little burn and no harsh aftertaste. Bought it for a party and didn't get any complaints. Great over ice.
Nice little burn while on the tongue but swallows smooth with a vanilla smoke finish
Nice and smooth
average burn. vanilla is obviously on the nose.
vanilla
fruit
oak and brown sugar on the nose, spicy brown sugar and molasses palate. lasting spice on the finish. simple but very good at what it is
overall, a nice drink, lots of flavour going on, nothing disturbing.
I smell oranges :) , hint of other citrus fruits. vanilla is also in.
oranges, marmelade like even. spicy peppery , almost dry
not the strongest point of the drink. a bit bitter and alcohol taste is remaining. but this is easily solved by taking another sip of it :)

Sweet, cinnamon, and cherry syrup bit of oak
Hot cinnamon, oak
solid choice for this price range
Sweet, spicy and smooth. Vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, fruity, fragrant. Very nice, kind of sweet bourbons that i like.
Vanilla, cherry. Sweet and smooth
Smooth, sweet and a little spicy. super inexpensive as well. best bourbon at that price point!
My go to everyday sipper. I can drink it neat, with a cube, a few drops of water, in a drink, or mixed.
The only thing particularly special about it, is that it goes with everything, so everyone will drink it
Nice Bourbon! Vanilla y spicy
Very good bourbon. High rye and spice, but nice full flavor. ABV 45%>

Nice oak nose, but thin, watery, and almost tasteless on the palate. Finish was long with mild heat, but lacked flavor. Not bad, but not a favorite.
having a hard time pinpointing distinct flavors at this time. smooth with a slight heat, lingering finish. will edit as I taste more
As far as bourbons go, this is the best I have tasted yet.
sympathique bourbon , parfait sur deux glaçons !!
Not much into bourbon and used mainly for mixing. Was decent enough to have on its own
smooth tasting reasonably priced perfect shelf bourbon
I'm with Equality.
Ok bourbon. not a whole lot of character but drinkable.
Very good but I prefer Bulleit Rye
Great tasting bourbon especially for making Manhattans.
Rye spice, burnt caramel, tobacco. Not enough corn.
Smooth, spicy and sweet Bourbon whiskey! One of the best Bourbons I have ever tasted. I highly recommend!
