A good easy to drink bourbon. For the price (especially when it's on offer at Tesco or asda) it's hard to beat.
Honey. Butterscotch. Burnt sugar
Caramel. sweet. alcohol is prominent
sharp alcohol after taste but not a burn.
Not much complexity here. Van on the nose and some on the tongue. hits of Carmel. not much spice and low burn. good for the price though.
Like many others have mentioned, this is decent value for the price. By no means will it blow your mind, but versatile bourbon.
A lot of bang for your buck. Smooth mix of vanilla, oak and caramel.
middle shelf Bourbon good for friends and family that are new to Bourbon
Sweet vanilla with hints of honey and oak; tasty.
My go to when I am out
Good bourbon, bold flavor with strong caramel notes. A little spicy at the beggining. Better with a little splash of water.
Bourbon with a lot of flavor
Not my favorite of the mid-price whiskies. Bottle is the most exciting part of the package
vanilla caramel and apple on the nose and taste. very drinkable
Nice small batch bourbon. Would buy again.
Smell of modelling glue on the nose, with a hint of bright apple lurking beneath. Vanilla emerges after a bit of sniffing. Creamy mouthfeel on sipping, with same vanilla first arising before a note of leather and cinnamon creeps in. The taste sensation fades away to leave a persistentdrying, fizzing sensation in the mouth.
Quite good bourbon with strong flavor
classic burbon, lots of corn and sweetness on the nose. mouth somewhat earthy in a forest way. lots of corn, typical of a burbon. somewhat moldy feel, on the late taste, relating to that forest earth.
corn, grain, sweet, acid
sweet, corns, forest earth, mold
nicht wirklich was besonderes
Simple, vanilla, some spice.
holy candied cherries!
I love the spiced taste I get. I dont drink it often, but it's a solid pick any time.
good whiskey. bit of a harsh finish
A solid bourbon - sweet with little spice. Liked the bottlecas well
Vanilla and caramel
Sweet with a little bit spice
Very good wheated bourbon. Complex without being too busy. Very balanced taste. Not a top shelf offering but pretty good for $30 in NC.
very sweet, little bit of spice
Definitely smell the vanilla and oak but is a bit sharp from the outset.
Vanilla and oak.
creamy yet sharp.
nothin to get excited about here. won't sip on it, but too expensive to mix.... and I don't mix
Classic grain bourbon. Rich vanilla aroma and sweet taste. Burnt oak caramel hints.
got my attention at the first sip, somehow it's special, different, but not different at all at the same time, does exactly what you would think a good bourbon does
Good sipping whiskey but a little harsh. Notes of vanilla, caramel, and wood
Caramel, light brown sugar
Woody, sweet, butterscotch, got some bite
Smoky vanilla, peppery, charred wood
my favorite bourbon ive found.
Good taste. One of my favorites. Got it as a present.
a great bourbon. rounded body, vanilla, sweetness. love the flavor of wood lasting afeter tasting.
OK for the night out bourbob
my favorite whisky for years its smooth and has a nice after fast that sits
Vanilla, coconut and vague notes of herbs and corn. A bit boring.
vanilla caramel light oak
sweet oaky vanilla nose. sweet smooth oaky vanilla taste with a long mouth burn. a step up from the JD and JB whiskies
из бурбонов — лучше многих; хоть и жёсток, и пахнет только спиртом, но другие стандартные хуже
Bourbon, sweet, vanilla,
bourbon, sweet vanilla
sharp, short, bourbon
Belle découverte avec un goût vanillé.
My first bourbon and I like the taste a lot.
my favorite old fashion
When I'm out ,this is my go to whiskey ,almost all bars have it and it's never a let down. Your basic standard of whiskey taste profile ,from this you can move your scales from
Not my stuff, I prefer scotch, but not bad also, tastes like a mix of wood, lacroaix and karamel...
silky, viscous, creamy texture. easy sipper. would be nice on ice
sugar, vanilla, orange peel,
beachy, coconut, sugar cane, faint vegetal hint
Nice and smooth but also very simple
Promises what it can never deliver. Better alternative to Jack Daniel's and probably better used in mixed drinks. A bit of water brought out some nuance of flavor, but only slightly.
solid bourbon and nice to enjoy on the rocks
Nice beginner bourbon.
Liquid Asphalt. Yuck
Mineral Spirits and Creosote
12 minutes airtime
Sweet, Asphalt, ghost pepper fire, numb, short wet
90 seconds of OH MY GOD PLEASE SAVE ME. I may have gotten a bad sample but never again.
good vanilla taste, comparably smooth
Better ones in this price range
very good for $20 (sale price)
enjoy it on the rocks, smooth after taste.
Doesn't burn like the 100 proofers
Markers Mark, a little harsh but good.
Nothing special, but good to sit and sip on.
fairly strong alcohol burn, strong spice, very simple and uninteresting
sweet, not too complex, better than average straight
Guter Whiskey mit tollen PLV!
Honigsüße mit Vanille, Nelke und leichte Würzigkeit. Alkohol-Note wahrnehmbar!
Süß und leicht wässrig mit starkem Antritt!
Langer Abgang mit Würze und leichte Bitterkeit!
It's a bar staple, but nothing special.
Good stable drink. A solid go-to.
Tasting @ L&B whiskybar Amsterdam. Round 4.
A sidestep to Kentucky for this round. We got the 45% uncoloured and chill filtered golden Maker's Mark.
At first nosing a bit alcoholic but the sweet stuff leads. A subtle vanilla is accompanied by caramel, toffee and honey. Besides the sweetness, this one is very wheaty and therefore very smooth. When you get past the sweetness, some fresh wood is detectable.
The sweet and spicy palate adds a few new elements. Hazelnut, sweet popcorn and white bread are amongst them.
It's a corn whisky so the caramel/honey sweetness here is obvious. The spice comes from the spicy young American oak I guess.
The smooth long finish offers some white bread and dry fruits besides the lingering honey sweetness.
The 2nd zip surprisingly had more power than the first.
A nicely balanced and sweet dram, but when I compare this one to the only other Kentucky bourbon I had, this one lost it in comparison to the magnificent Blanton's single barrel.
Nothing to special.
Good for price
A good benchmark to compare other burbons, Maker's Mark has a syrupy smoothness that makes it palatable to all who taste it.
Distinctly mellow caramel and vanilla scent. One must sniff deeply to get any hint that this is an alcohol.
Thick sweet caramel coats the tongue giving way to a smooth toffee and vanilla finish.
surprisingly fleeting for as syrupy as this burbon is. But overall it is pleasing. Aftertaste is of light oak and spice.
Sweet and vanilla
Good for the price and can find it everywhere. Always have it at the airports before every flight.
An okay bourbon. No strong distinctive flavors.
Fruity and sweet, very nice for its price. Best to sip and a good alternative to Jack Daniel's Single Barrel.
Tastes nice for the price in comparison to others
The old standby.
Rich, smoky and goes great with peanut M&Ms.
a little char, toffee, and residual sweetness
Being a card carrying Maker's ambassador I have nothing but love for this bourbon. Yes it is light, sweet and uncomplicated but value it for what it is, an affordable mixer that is great with ginger ale.
Preis/Leistung toll. Viel Vanille!
Sweet but not complex.
Sweet and bold. I'm a fan
great sweet smooth bourbon. nice for high volume product
Quite strong and sharp start, followed by a kind of sweet and rather 'flat' taste and finish
great one. good taste, full body, not spirty
A really nice bourbon, available everywhere in the UK.
Great stuff for the price. Good standby. Sweet
Very smooth, very sweet bourbon. One of my favorites and always on my shelf
don't care for it. rather spend the price on something else
one of my favorites!
Good stuff for the price.
Mild and sweet like honey. A great standby for the price
My first buy love this one straight with food and mixer!
Maker's first opened my eyes to bourbon, and will always have a place in my heart. Not real complex, not real bold, but always a consistant sip.
Light, hints of vanilla, and carmel.
Sweet simple syrup.
zwischen durch dram
Bourbon Charakter Vanille Karamell und Jugend
mild, süß , honig , vanille und leicht pfeffrig
süße , vanille , pfeffrig
Reliable, smooth taste. Definitely a staple to keep in my cabinet.
Bourbon die niet met rogge gemaakt is. Zachte smaak. combineert goed met chocolade pinda"s nougat en carramel
too strong but goes great with chocolate
Strong stuff. Something I usually go to when I've had a longer day than usual. Pretty good for something on the lower end of the price spectrum.
a promising nose of syrup, dried red fruit and vanilla oil that really doesn't deliver afterwards. the arrival is harsh, followed by sweetness (bubblegum),m i 're vanilla and burnt sugar. in the finish there's a metallic mineral note, along with creme brulee and sweet spice. all in all a bit too rough and unbalanced with a tin development to become a favorite. nice but no more than that...
Like others wrote it is much better with ice. Overall not bad, but not worth the price.
too light. it feels watered down.
My go to bourbon for years. Love it with ginger ale and a Luxarddo cherry. Great price.
very aromatic caramel vanilla smell
the wheat makes it rest easy on the palate
slightly sweet finish and slight oak taste
Light, a little fruity. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
A fine example of tweaking the mash to offer a slight sweetness that other bourbons dont have.
I think this is one of the few that's better with ice.
Solid whisky. I love to mix with coke at a wedding. Only do this when it is free.
not one of my favorites. It is just ok for me. I know a lot of people enjoy this, but there are just so many better bourbons out there for the same price.
This one reminds me of helping someone overcome an big obstacle. It taste just like that
Bourbon isn't my preferred liquor, but when I'm in the mood for Kentucky's finest, Maker's is what I reach for.
cabinet favorite. always savored. full-bodied and smooth.
One of my fsvourites...
Un bonne odeur de bois brûlé. un bourbon classic
ok for mixing. standard best
Great Bourbon one of the best!
very decent. use this for some of my mixed drinks and for cooking
very Sweet taste with a bite. oily mouthfeel and not to complex. tastes different because of the weat added to the bourbon. you deffinitly need to buy this whiskey as an introduction to weated bourbons, but if you don't like it then try another one!
Sweet light vanilla bourbon, hints of (pop)corn. Aftertaste of caramel and some oak. Quite a stinger sometimes!
Vanilla and caramel
Caramel, (pop)corn and hint of oak
Light caramel and some oak
Good. First bourbon
very smooth, nice oak and nut aroma.
Good vanilla and oak flavor, but watery and a biting finish.
