General description

Always interested in trying out closed distillery bottlings and this was no exception

Nose

The nose is light and somewhat sweet. It certainly does not give away very much.

Palate

Sweet, light and very smooth. Barley notes and a touch brown sugar are at the front, but there is a drier sultana note that sort of spoils it for be a bit. This is a relatively young whisky for a closed distillery bottle, and I'd be interested to see how what's left has matured.

Finish

Somewhat dry and malty, again. Some oaky spices appear, with a warm, stewed green apple and cinnamon sweetness that fades away quickly

General description

This is lovely and gentle. There isn't an off note from start to finish but it is an incredibly subtle, almost shy dram. With a blink and you'll miss it kind of profile that makes me wish I hadn't blinked.

Nose

Very smooth and light vanilla notes. There is nothing punchy, nothing extreme, nothing jarring, just simple good quality casks and spirit.

Palate

Smooth, watery and a touch sweet. There is a dollop of vanilla cream and a little nuttiness but it is so gentle. This reminds of me of a Johnnie Walker Blue but just more sorted.

Finish

Quick and over far too soon. Not that there was a great deal happening anyway but the smooth creamy vanilla was such a great that it seems a shame to say goodbye so quickly. There is a touch of woody spice right on the death which gives some extra body as it comes to a close.
