Good whiskey. Very smokey, but with a vanilla smell. Taste is alcoholic and sharp. Salty and peppery aftertaste.
Might seem simple at first, but I think it's one of the better Islay whiskeys, with nice layers of taste.
Smokey sharpness, but warming.
Peppery, with a hint of saltiness.
Pronounced "LEDGE-igg"? Pale yellow/gold color. Not leggy, per se, but with raindrops that stick to the inside of the glass.
I am truly delighted by Ledaig: it's wonderfully balanced, with lots of peat but not fetishizing it. It's got salt, pepper, smoke and a sweet barley finish. Highly recommended.
The nose is lovely, mild tin of vanilla tobacco peat, with just a touch of menthol at the tail end. Some iodine and car fumes; smoke but the kind you close your eyes and inhale. A really nice barley sweetness that balances everything out. A little meaty, but a little, though with some fennel folded in.
The flavor is bonfire peat smoke at the very first sip: spent matches and lots of salt and black pepper spices. Cinnamon gum, like the bit of a Big Red. The peat permeates the whole thing. Barley and toffee to round out the swallow.
The finish is prickly salt rock and white pepper. Lots of spice: cinnamon, star anise, fennel. Peat smoke and rich potting soil. The rock salt sticks until the very end.
schöner frischer Malt mit deutlichem Rauch; eingebunden in Birne, Vanille und eine angenehme Süße; leicht ledrig, aber nicht zu aufdringlich.

amazing..needs to be on your shelves
herbal, peaty, briny
light mouth, sea salt, spicey pepper, light peat smoke, slight medicinal
salt lingers and a little pepper spice.
Absolut toller Raucher. In der Nase Torfrauch und Schinken.
Der Geschmack ist eine der gelungensten Harmonisierungen von verschiedenen Einflüssen, Torf, Rauch, Süsse, pfeffrige Schärfe, Maritime Noten Salz. Im langen, angenehmen Abgang auch Eiche.
Tolles Zeug, gefährlich süffig! Top PLV!
Viel Torfrauch, zu dem leichte Zitrusfrüchte, im Antritt sehr fruchtig, weicht aber schnell der Eiche und dem Rauch. Der Abgang ist lange und sehr rauchig.
Meaty Peaty Big and Bouncy
(with apologies to The Who)
I find this whiskey to be delicious, bold and spicy with peat, brine, smoke, sherry and stone fruit notes.
The peat is more medicinal/iodine than smokey.
lots of peat, bit of smoke. bit of a medicinal taste. on the nose it smels like solvent
Intensely smokey smell. Same on the taste, but rewards you with complexity and sweetness while it develops. Satisfying finish of smoke and vanilla.
I don't like it, because it comes too stuffy and smelly
typical Tobermory sweetness some between cereals and oak, old smoke, stuffy, almost like an Islay
very dry and smokey, gauze bandage, stuffy, cheap alcohol, a bit of sweetness from the cereal note, not much volume, very reserved
steong, I don't like ot
sea salt and peat on the nose. palate is biscuit fading into a middle of the road campfire peat with sea salt. milder than the peat bombs, with more salt on the finish than smoke
nose: peat smoke and medicinal like opening a brand new pack of band aid
palate: a lot of smoke, pepper and a bit dry towards the end
finish: smoke and medicinal notes linger quite a while.
not to crazy about this one.
Good Whisky with smoke and citrus.
Spicy and lightly smokey.
I'm pretty bored of ex-bourbon peated scotches. Anyway I have to be the more objective as possible.
N: honey, peat and iodine
M: more peat, citrus, strong spiciness and black pepper, more iodine. Very oily.
F: long, salty, hint of ginger. Obviously peat.
More flavours than the usual peated scotch, anyway my rating is low because I'm into peated scotch with sherry-port-marsala-vines finish.
Strong smoke meats with a hint of hospitals. the lightest sweetness and a good length finish
Smoked meats, hospitals, ointments, a hint of vanilla. A hint of white wine or cider on the nose after adding a little water
Oily, sweet, smoky, good mouth feel. gets sweeter after the first sip. cereal
Strong ashy bonfire smoke, the lightest pepper.
Stark rauchig in der Nase. Etwas faulig. Maritim.
Im Geschmack sehr kräftig, würzig. Aber auch süß. Interessante Mischung aus Beidem. Würde ich wieder kaufen.
Very strong Peat and smokey flavour
Bright and smokey like a bbq on a summer day. Could be an every day.
Gummy bear, lemon, smoke, faint ocean.
Creamy lemon tart, smoke, salt, pepper.
Smoke and spice, pepper. Bright and refreshing.
Tourbé légèrement, avec des notes fraîches et fruitées
Manque peut être d'expression
Uniquely peated. Fresh and brighter than the Islays. Very good.
peat. green apples. smoke.
salt. smoke. lemon
Peated single malt from Tobermory. Although not an Islay, it's a "must try" for all Islay whisky lovers. Excellent, rich yet clear and balanced 👍
Smoky, peaty, herbal, walnuts, fresh tobaco...
Peaty, barley sugar, toffee, see-weed, almonds...
Smoky, see-weed, honey, pepper, dried tea...
Leicht salzig mit einem geringen Lakritzaroma
отличный торфяной виски
n: peat smoke, friuty aroma, sweet, medicine, lemon
t: peat smoke, spice
a: long, peat smoke, sweet
Delicious peaty goodness
Heerlijke zachte zoete peated whiskey
Peated with maritime accents, not my taste really.
Geturfde whisky. Heel lekker, tot nu toe een van mijn betere!
One of my top. Best quality VS price in the moment in my part of the world
Steve last choice
Really like this whisky. A good alternative to the Islay peated malts.
Robust partners and still sweet in the end. Peat lingers on. Somewhat raunchy pepper at the start.
Sweet smokiness. Little bit unbalanced.
awful. pure peat. fine if you're into that but not for me
Some sweetness and a bit medicinal taste, also a long warm after taste.
Tasted after enjoying the Tobermory 10. Really fantastic malt, lightly peated and richly flavoured of vanilla and yellow fruit. Powerful and nearly balsamic finish, definitely matching the top of my favourites.
I love peaty whisky and this is one of my favourites
Lightly peated, little bit vanilla
I generally don't like strong smokey, peaty whiskies, but this is an exception. A wonderful mix of smoke, peat and sweetness that is soft on the pallet... superb.
far too peaty taste for my liking
quite peaty. not too strong tasting. smoky but not burning
smokey peat with a hint of sweet.
Really well balanced peated island whisky. I'm never without a bottle. Great value when compared to some of the over priced Islays.
Un chill filtered and natural colour.
smooth and smoky
smoky with hints of salt
smoky, little oily,
smoky and smooth
mooie kleur, sterke rokerige romige geur, goede sterke smaak middellange tot lange afdronk
interesting, an Islay in disguise
Nice, smooth smoke. Petrol and some medicine.
Wunderbarer Whisky. Meer, Sand, Klippen, Hafen, Algen, Strand, Wellen, Fischig.
Quite a strong taste good but not worth it's money when you ask me
nice peaty flavor but quite strong in a way. nice for a small sip.
I'm now a big fan! what a lovely surprise. I like the peatyness and it's just a good all round whisky that's definitely worth a go. I'll be back for more when I finish the bottle.
A bit of barley on the nose, watery at first sip, briny in the middle of the palate, finishing in the back of the throat with a smouldering, waning smokiness. Exceptional.
Briny. A bit of barley.
Salty, like the rocky coastline.
Smouldering, waning smokiness with a bit of oiliness.
a little bit watery to me.
Sweet and peaty with quite an oily finish.
Une tourbe légère et agréable.
nice peaty whisky. More gentle then the big Islay's like laphroig or ardbeg. if you like talisker or caol ila... give this one a try
nice smokey peat
Not as 'peaty' as the best Islays, but compares favorably to whiskys such as Bowmore and Bruichladdich in my opinion.
You've got peat a little smoke and the ocean.
Lovely dram for a 10yr old. Not to complex. not superspecial but straight
Peat, cereal, flowery
full, spicy, peat, very nice
lingering on the sides of the tongue .
nice flavour and peat
