Great whisky. Glad I finally got to try it. Very well balanced and surprisingly gentle with no alcohol burn whatsoever. I would say well worth the money.... But, if you’re like me and you don’t like the “ash tray” style of peat akin to Bowmore and Talisker (it does have Talisker in it after all) then you might not like this whisky

Nose

Nose immediately made me think of a toned down Talisker. As mentioned above it is well known this whisky has Talisker in it and it does not compliment an otherwise superb whisky in my opinion

Palate

Great taste, surprisingly delicate. The Coal Ila is obvious with it’s spiciness. However as mentioned above I utterly dislike the ash tray peat of the Talisker.

Finish

Short and almost moreish, but ultimately that ash tray flavor just doesn’t do this whisky any favors.

Отличный купажированный виски. Пожалуй лучший из тех, которые мне удалось попробовать. Вполне возможно, что это, прежде всего, вызвано тем, что в купаж входят только солодовые молты, и никаких других следов ржи и прочих злаков там нет.
В Зеленом пешеходе всего 4 молта: Talisker, Caol Ila, Cragganmore и Linkwood. Скай, Айла и Спейсайд. Виски отлично сбалансирован. Из него вроде ничего не выпирает, а все... торфянность, дымность, перечность, сладость и цветочность, все очень органично чувствуется.
Красивый янтарный цвет, который получается путем подкрашивания, плюс холодная фильтрация.
Тело маслянистое и в меру плотное. Ножки красиво и медленно стекают, все-таки 15 лет выдержки здесь явно присутствуют в том числе.
Нос очень ровный, в меру сладкий с древесностью и цветочностью, веупе с дымностью и перечностью.
Вкус, как и запах, тоже очень ровный с хорошим балансом фруктовой сладости, деликатного торфа, древесных и травяных нот, с заметной перчинкой и небольшим количеством солодовых нот. Даже многим моим знакомым, не любителям, но готовым пробовать виски, он очень нравится. И нравится как раз тем, что он в меру и цветочно-сладкий, и в тоже время в нем есть и островная дымность.
Послевкусие продолжительное, ровное, согревающее, с хорошей перечной остринкой, деликатным торфом и деревом. И при этом, и во вкусе, и в послевкусии есть леденцовая сладость... как леденцы на палочках раньше, в советские времена.
Отличный вариант и на вдумчивое распитие, хотя что-то там выискивать и ждать многослойности вкуса не стоит, так и для распития в кампании. Очень... очень приятный виски, хоть и бленд.

I'm a year on, (Feb, '21) - many whiskies under the belt. This is really what I look for, most of the time. And it's corked: It has a creamy mouth, nudging a full body & almost chocolatey, & the hint of smoke is perfect.
I remember when it was discontinued, now I'm grateful its back. A blended "Malt" stands out on this JW label. Will always have one in the collection. 4/5 👍

As a disclaimer, I got the 48% ABV Taiwan Limited Edition Green Label. It was excellent!

There is a pronounced smoke note and also a strong character of fruit honey and biscuits. The nose shifts between these aspects, while the palate builds in a more consistent way. It starts with some sweet smoke and then moves to sweet spice before finishing with some more smoke.

With the 48% bottle, I recommend letting it air with a little movement for about 20 minutes (more than the normal ratio for a 15) to let the alcohol taste evaporate a little. when you do, it is excellent!

This one is really great. Sweet peat, honey, a little spice, some vanilla and roasted malt. The sweet beginnings are tempered by a good amount of smoke and a delicious meaty brine that never becomes overwhelming. It’s like a smoother more balanced caol ila, and I’m totally into it. It’s also by far my favorite Johnnie Walker. This is what blended scotch is supposed to be, using multiple malts to accentuate the strengths of each. I say buy it if you can.

Sweet smoke, malt, turpentine and some orange zest on the nose, smooth and sweet initially on the palate but the long it’s held the spicier it gets, long sweet and spicy finish. This whiskey has some scents and flavors that I really liked but I could not discern. Overall, I thought it was outstanding and I look forward to the experience this bottle will bring.
