With a splash of water this is a fairly smooth whisky. Vanilla and oaky taste present. Really nice for a cheap small batch whisky.

General description

Sweetish but not as sweet as, and smoother, than Evan Williams Black Label and not as complex.
What the Nose Gives the Palate tastes. This is almost a copy of Buffalo Trace but milder and better balanced. This is also a portrait of Bourbon.

Nose

Caramel, Vanilla, Toffee, light hint of fruit

Palate

Caramel, Vanilla, Toffee, light hint of fruit

Finish

Caramel and Medium Rye Spice, no specific aftertaste

General description

Tasted blind. It is between EW Black and EWSBR. Classic EW smoky finish. Good. but not great. I much prefer the SB @$29. It's worth the difference. "small batch" and "extra aged" seem so much like a gimmick without any real meaning. I know what single barrel means, and the taste backs it up.
