General description

General description

Beautiful smooth whisky, it has been a long regular for me. Distilled in Northern Ireland in the village of Bushmills. The distillery is a must to visit as it does regular tours and gives an insight to the process from start to finish. I could be slightly biased being from NI this whiskey is a part of the culture here.

Nose

I'm I, It has it's own unique smell which I could pinpiont it to burnt oak

Palate

Smooth, always with a dash of ice with no mixer, i.e. water etc.

General description

High quality old dram that has many stories in its flavour.

Nose

On the nose, unsurprisingly, very Bushmills, with a lot of honeyed sweetness, malt and fruit, very much like the rich fruit of a Christmas cake. Obviously, scotch-like...

Palate

Creamy with a spice hit and much more caramel sweetness heading towards molasses and toffee. More fruit flavours, but drying out, like dates or apricot and a deep but well-balanced maltiness. Very good.

Finish

Long, smooth and satisfying. Worth the try. An almost aniseed quality right at the end. Now to à second try!
