hints of cinnamon, a little more harsh on the nose and the palate for me

Second Rye whisky. Very good for beginning.
Sweet as for bourbon with hints of rye and oak
Sweet, Spicy, Honey, Oak, Rye
Oak, Rye, Spicy
Since this sucker is 95% rye, it should give me the Platonic ideal of what "rye whiskey" is, yes? I got a half-bottle for $20, which I wish they would make more of.
This one stands on its own, with lots of spices and an herbal character. But it's also tailor made for an Old Fashioned or a Kentucky Mule. A very solid buy.
The nose is potpourri, cinnamon. Earthy and rustic, like brown autumn leaves. The aroma is kind of harsh: barrel spices and finished wood. I get spicy fennel. It brings me back to childhood spearmint scratch-n-sniff stickers. Prickly orange zest.
Taste is cinnamon, mint leaf, orange peel, citrus, with a chewy, syrupy feel. A second wave of toffee and spicy ribbon candy. Black licorice and star anise. The wood is musty like an old barn.
The finish is orange rind, mixed peel, bitter grapefruit, bitters and white pepper. It is tannic and metallic. The oaky wood tastes lacquered, like nail polish remover, but in a good way?
Very drinkable, not too spicy and quite smooth.
Sweet enticing nose. Initial taste was the sweetness but also summer berries. A refined rye is my opinion and very nice.
At fist sniff it comes something like paper glue, second smell there is some sweet notes. Plate, pretty flat, aftertaste spicy but in right way. Nice value
light, young, fast finish. nice nose.
Fantastic apple smell and taste for some reason
Perfect for an old fashioned!
A budget friendly rye whiskey with plenty of spice and lots of herbal character.
Fresh herbs, pepper, mint, vanilla, lemon zest.
Sharp spice, syrup, cola, black pepper, vanilla, oak, lemon zest, mint, basil, tea.
Dill, oak wood, mint, char, maple syrup.
Too much strange lacquer taste
a nariz:
maderas, flores, malta, mentol, vainilla, canela, caramelo.
a boca:
delicioso
madera, mentol, centeno, caramelo, vainilla
dulce, ácido y picante en su recorrido con notas claras de centeno, madera, piel de naranja, toronja, caramelo y madera.
medio corto pero muy rico picante y frutos rojos con cereal malteado
Not much experience with rye but this had little character and no finish. Smooth nonetheless.
A very nice go to spicy rye at a good price.

Fucking awesome.
zapach słodki , iglasty. smak słodki waniliowy, cynamon. finisz słodki przyjemny krótki. zaskoczony byłem,że lepiej smakuje bez lodu
słodki, iglasty
słodki, waniliowy, cynamon, alkohol ale mało
słodki krótki
strong, good Rye
Flat taste. Cannot find the high rye
Somewhat atypical rye; the rye spice is there, but I don't get the licorice notes I get from other ryes.
better than the original
nice and spicy on the nose and the palate
Out for dinner and decided to taste test
does have a heavy alcohol nose, oak, spice
nice silky mouth feel, rye all the way, get kind of a tart taste like grapefruit.
am getting a hint of vanilla on finish but more oak...with a slight spice burn
Earthy with heavy rye taste but not too much spice like some ryes. It has a slight bitter taste on the finish. Not a complex whiskey but decent for the money.
Heavy rye spice. DILL PICKLE all the way. Oaky finish. Minimal burn on the back of the throat.
Vanille mais rye typique delicat

Smaak vanille praneline en veel Rogge , niet mijn smaak.
my first ever introduction with rye.
And one that I never forget.
I didn't know what to expect from rye since I never had one.
By opening the bottle it was like I've been peppersprayed (I've never been peppersprayed but I think it feels this way).
Its very sharp in the nose and eyes and mouth.
the best way to serve this whiskey is when there are people coming over you don't like.
This one is for mixing but I don't buy whiskey to mix.
I have finished the bottle but with tears in my eyes
pepperspray sharpness
even peppery than the nose not pleasant at all
I wish it was short but the sharpness of the rye sticks in your mouth like crazy
Good rye for cocktails
Decent for the money but I agree with another comment that it is very sharp rye aroma and taste. it's almost like drinking a dram of actual rye. even for a 95 rye mash bill it seems to be quite strong drowning all other flavors. still though I kind of liked it
smoothness, which is flat and stale. That's not a bad thing here. For a rye I say pretty good
nice rye good mixer or straight no to harsh
Good basic rye
one of the best rye whiskey for me
One of my first ryes, good flavor. spicy notes with slight sweetness, good neat. Will come back to this over time to see how it grows on me.
My first taste of rye, took me a few days to get used to its rye tangy sourness before it grew on me a bit.
I will have to taste some other Rye to truly judge this.
Didn’t blow me over though!
Rye
Vanilla
Sour rye comes through strong followed by a bit of vanilla
Slight tingle whilst the taste of rye lingers on
nice rye
My first rye wisky! That's amore! Good taste of rye, a little bit honey and wood.
Honey rye orange
Rye
Rye
Grassy and almost vegetal. I get tea and eucalyptus with dill, anise, and black pepper. it's a nice rye with some unique characteristics, and most I importantly it's well worth its price.
Solid choice, quite spicy but still with a bit of smoothness. I prefer the traditional bulleit bourbon (mostly corn)
sharp, very distinct rye, grain, bit woody and citrusy sour. enough complex to please. it is real whiksey for real men :-)
not bad. spearmint, minty spice, herbal,
rubbing alcohol and pickles
Bright mandarin orange on the nose eagerly elbowed aside by pungent acetone that gradually differentiated into subtle notes of vanilla and pepper. Fruit invaded the palate on first taste, before gradually but never completely submitting to powerful spices: white pepper and possibly nutmeg, before leaving a slightly bitter, herbaceous aftertaste in the wake of a brief whiff of vanilla, and a drying sensation on the tongue.
Easy start, honey notes, very soft finisg
Sweet, wood
Honey, oak.
Soft, sweet.
more astringent than I remember, but it's hard to argue with the price and availability
SPICE, fudge,honey ,medium long eftertaste
smooth to drink whiskey with a touch of sweetness and spicyness
I'm not a rye fan. This particular one is not for me. Way too much spice and heat at the front end. So much front heat to the nasal passage that any complexity or flavors were stifled. Pine tar and turpntine linger on the finish. This is just not my style.
great rye, makes an outstanding old fashioned
Great rye! One of the best, especially with a rock or two
Great, nice vanilla finish
one of my go-to standards. decent spice, and smooth.
This is a very easy drink
Persimmon, spice
it's a good all-around and not very complex rye
Had old fashioned with this one. Smooth. Strong. Will drink again.
Briney at first but reveals sweeter undertones after a few sips. Nice, spicy finish
Dill brine
Salty, briny, light on the tongue, spicy dark chocolate undertones
Spicy/peppery and long
A good spicy rye whiskey, love how it’s 95% rye.
a great beginners rye
nice and affordable
Sugar, pepper, green apple and floral on the nose. after a sip got hints of apricot. Apple. Pencil shavings. Leather and spice. Fantastic rye and also great in a sazerac
würzig, vanille, weich und süffig
Very nice rye experience. Nice and smooth finish.
My go to rye. Nice and neat. Not too complex but smooth and medium. Finish of Vanilla cream.
Clean and fresh
5 minutes airtime
Straw, pear, ginger medium burn, wet, Port, jasmine, peach, rye medium burn, dry, salted Carmel, orange peel, toasted almond, wet, water, sweet Sherry, molasses, cinnamon mild burn, bread, champagne, honeysuckle,
Vanilla cream
7 minutes ride
Nice Rye for beginners.
Decent rye for the price.
Very clean rye taste. Probably the most rye flavor of all the ryes.
A nice mid level rye in a distinctive smaller bottle.
very sweet
All the burn of their bourbon, without the sweetness. Some level of complexity present.
A go to for a quick sip or a mix. Good value for quitu
Nice introductory rye. Good for a mixer
it was my first rye. loved the taste
Great staple to keep in the house.
cherry, fruit, spicy with a full round body.
fragrant and fruity
cherry, clove, rye spice
peppery
95% rye so expect the spice, cherry/fruit on the nose, short peppery finish. Good middle of the road rye, best in your Old Fashioned than by itself.
Quite nice to drink, but nothing memorable in the taste. A bit vanilla as far as whiskies go.
My go to basic rye. Spicy with nuanced subtle flavors underneath
great tasty and spicy whisky. has some nice flavors
My favorite rye (so far). Nice spicy finish. It's a nice change up to other whiskey styles.
hot&spicy
My first rye, very interesting. You can really taste some rye, with some hints of something reminiscent of liquorice. A very easy drinker
OK
Very nice 😁
Very aggressive whiskey. it's good neat, and great on the rocks or in an old fashioned. Straight rye, very spicy but a touch of sweetness to me. I like rye whiskeys and this is no exception, and it has a sweet spot in my heart as the first full bottle of whiskey I ever bought
Spicy! Probably better in a cocktail, but on the rocks it's a little too hot and spicy.
smooth taste, sweet but a bit of spice on the finish. no oak flavours, but vanilla and sugar are good!
Spicy, as you'd expect a rye to be. The grain flavor comes through nicely. Not much wood, though. Nice.
Nice mix of Bourbon-like sweetness and very own taste of nearly pure rye whisky. The rye gives interesting spice flavours. Mixed up with vanilla and rich oak, this to me is a very good one.
it's a great stand-alone Rye but it can also be in mixed drinks and work perfect
really good whisky
My first rye. smooth and some nice spice. I recommend it!
spice
smooth, spice and fruit
bourbon
Nice. Hints of tobacco. Like a good manly red wine
