Light, pleasant. Some bitter-herbal notes. Sweet, honey in taste. Very approachable. For small price u get good bourbon, will buy again!
I love the nose on this. Good flavor, and lingering finish. A great Bourbon to benchmark others against.
smooth with a little bite
Very smooth. Great bourbon
per price point a giod value. thin, not very complex. mildy sweet. Smooth, the spice takes several moments to develop hitting the front and sides of the tongue. mild floral and hint of dark spice after several minutes. touch of mint shows up but flares out quickly.
Vanilla on the nose and some mint. Spicy on the palate, very good bourbon for the price.
overall a very nice bourbon. for the price I think you really can't go wrong. would probably prefer a woodford reserve, but that is a more expensive bottle. smooth and medium body, very sweet
sweet, slight honey.
sweet and smooth. mildly astringent. sherry and light oak flavor
medium, warm finish. sweet after taste
heavy vanilla with a little fruit and caramel. great beginner bourbon.
Lots of vanilla, a little oaky, a little bit of of fruit, smoky background. A real long finish with a little burn.
Smokey, great for doing shots.
good cheap bourbon
very comfortable and tasteful in every aspect.
full but delicate. Mandarin caramel vanilla
spice, lite pepper, vanilla, strawberries
shorter then I hoped for. sweet bananas vanilla
Awesome bourbon for the price. when it can be found.
Easy drinking bourbon with some fruit, cinnamon, clove and spice. Nice mixer.
Fruity notes of apple with baking spices of cinnamon and clove
Initially sweet but goes to pepper relatively quickly and hangs there for some time. But still approachable and rounded.
Smooths out after the pepper bite and becomes friendly and entices another sip.
I was warned that Buffalo Trace was hit and miss. BT is good for being okay.
gekocht om te mixen, maar ook heerlijk om neat of op ijs te drinken. zoet, bourbon smaken, suiker.
I can’t believe how cheap this bourbon is. It’s just as delicious at $20 as some $40-$50 bourbons I have. I agree with other users that it’s the best bourbon I know of for its price bracket (along with Elijah Craig).
Smells like a much more expensive bourbon in that it doesn’t reek of grain alcohol. Sweet vanilla/toffee and a hint of cherry. Pleasant spice
I am impressed with how nice the sweetness smoothness and spiciness mingle in this $20 bottle. Classic bourbon flavor and affordable and good enough to sip daily.
Smooth. Perfect burn that doesn’t make you cough and gag but is enough to let you know your drinking whiskey.
overall, this is just a great Bourbon. the price point makes you think it must be wrong. but its priced good.
vanilla, caramel, over ripe fruit
Smooth, little to no bite.
long and smooth but unremarkable
Enjoyable nose with a vanilla and woody aroma. A very approachable taste that is slightly sweet and smooth, with a subtle slow burn and medium finish. Very good overall for the money and a solid everyday choice.
Vanilla and Oak
Slight sweetness and smooth.
Warm and subtle spice on the end.
Great Bourbon, great value, smooth aftertaste, not spicy but no to sweet.
Christmas present.... very nice sipping whiskey
Oak, Fruit, and a nice spice nose
spice, fades to fruit, very light mouth feel...slight burn at the end
not a very long finish..but pleasent for what it does have
good value bourbon. Easy drinking, rich flavours.
sweet, butterscotch, vanilla, cinnamon, very rich
mild spice, oily mouth feel, butterscotch, short bread, vanilla, dark fruits
medium, peppery finish
Good for those beginning into the world of bourbon. Still a solid ‘daily drinker’, and I wouldn’t be ashamed to hand this out to guests. But for myself I’d reach for something different. General toffee sweetness, candy corn, Carmels. Start here - but you won’t finish here.
very smooth, this one is my go to whiskey
one of my favorites
Lots of vanilla and caramel on the nose. Sweet palette with light oak, spices, pepper, dried fruit, and caramel. Medium finish. Very enjoyable sipping bourbon.
Good budget dram. A bit unrefined
For the money, this is the smoothest I have found in this price range. Great in a cocktail or even straight.
Delicious, very nice bourbon for the price
lots of sweetness on the nose, some spice and oak on the palate, and a smooth sugary finish
Classic burboun. Well balanced with a great flavor. Great value. Every cabinet needs this
sweet. vanilla. light spice
syrup. vanilla. malt. honey. caramel.
slightly sweet vanilla for days a good sipper neat or with a few cubes
Sweet whiskey, fruity and spicy, a bit alcoholic
Sweet and fruity nose isn't overpowering. A balance of sweet and spicy on palate. Finish is long and somewhat sugary..
very smooth. vanilla.drinks very easy
Delicious and infinitely drinkable.
caramel, vanilla, dusty corn
caramel, toffee and hints of vanilla
medium/long with wood vanilla on inhale
I'm new to the whole whiskey scene; however, I did prefer it to the Buffalo Trace.
smooth and sweet.
Interesting and smooth. A little mellow for my taste, but a high-quality whiskey.
Smooth, sweet with a mild after burn. Pleasant after taste with a hint honey. First dip into bourbon but not the last
One of my favorite Bourbons, kind of sweet, some type of vanilla flavor I think.. A bit of kick in it but in a good way.
way to sweet for my palate. dissapointed
Good value. Sugary, toffee, Rum spice on the nose. Complex palate. Much better than Jim Beam Double Oak (about the same price)
Very nice! This tends to be what I serve to company. The price is right and the flavors are pleasant. Sweet on the pallet with some heat and spice off the finish. Very nice.
Good sipper for the price. I always keep a bottle in the cabinet.
Smooth, sweet, candy
Go-to for mixed drink, best budget bouban to me. Not my favorite neat.
A great everyday bourbon. One of my favorites.
vanilla, honey and hint of lemon maybe. smooth. pretty good for the price.
Spicy and very fruity good value bourbon.
This is a just a good bourbon. Nothing special but good.
Seems a little thin, I love the butterscotch notes. It is delicious, but finishes fast.
Pepper, dark chocolate, hint of butterscotch, apple
This is a must for bourbon lovers
Great smooth taste. A definite score at the price.
Not much on the nose or long in the finish, but a nice sweet dram. Lots of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch. I think it's a great buy for the price
pretty standard, but not in a bad way.
butter cream, vanilla, carmel
spicy, hearty, oak
mellow, minimal burn.
It is what it is, a flagship budget bourbon. I'd pit it against anything in its class. Balanced between sweetness and spiciness.
very pleasant nose. smooth and tasty.
Nose is pretty weak but has a sweet vanilla flavor. All in all it's a pretty boring bourbon but it's a pleasant sipper that's cheap enough to double as a good mixer
Vanilla, caramel, light
Caramel, sweet, light mouth feel, malty
Vanilla, wood, cinnamon
under $30 good bourbon but not you pay for the name VS taste
Classic bourbon notes. For the money, it's a must try. Brown Sugar, hint of vanilla, oak.
sweet nose. brown sugar. hint of spice
Mouth feel is ok. Brown sugar, oak, hint of cinnamon.
Pleasant finish. The 45% ABV leaves with a gentle Kentucky hug.
Good but doesn't live up to the hype for me.
Good bourbon. Low rye, rich, sweet and fruity. ABV 45%.
great everyday bourbon
A smooth bourbon with nice vanilla and nutty notes. Leaves a nice flavor on the tongue. On the sweet side. Dont get as much oak/smokey flavoring as I prefer. Great quality for price point. A great whiskey for starters and connisours alike.
This is such smooth bourbon that it seems like a boring pour. However, there is just too much going on with this whiskey. It is sneaky good. What a bargain for $29. Too bad its so limited in NC. It's only available each quarter.
Molasses and smoke with a bit of an alcohol overtone. Traditional bourbon nose.
Vanilla, butternut, apricot, with floral notes.
Very smooth with late heat and tobacco.
this is amazing stuff. fantastic flavor. worth the price
Well rounded and slightly sweeter. This is my go-to especially for the price. Vanilla and Brown Sugar on the nose. Citrus, Caramel, and Spice on the palate, a slight oak finish
Corn, Vanilla, Brown Sugar
Citrus, Caramel, Spice
Medium to Weak oak
tast is sweet. strong vanilla & honey. misses the oak char at the end. overall, a nice, light, sweet bourbon
Very good bourbon with vanilla and toffee aroma. Sweet palate with satisfying finish.
nice spice and vanilla on the nose and palate. Drink neat or with a bit of water
The bang for the buck keeps this bourbon flying off the shelves. For me its not as expressive as Stagg but for the price i prefer it over many of the distilleries other offerings. Sweet and oaky nose with some leather. Very smooth on the way down leaving behind notes of oak, bitter chocolate, caramel and some honey on the palate. The finish lacks the spice that Stagg jr. and other offerings provide, but with the price point its hard to pass it up - provided you can find it.
Sweet bourbon flavour. Yet more depth than the cheat variants. Easy drinking and pleasant. My go to.
classic bourbon, you'll never go wrong. it's getting harder to find for a reason
smooth. tastes like an aged ancient age 10 star
tastes better watered down may be good mixed
easy and finishes clean. I drink it neat.
Great all-around traditional Bourbon profile. Nice balance of sweetness and spice. My everyday go to. Unbelievable value for the price and consistency.
Good bourbon that is easy to drink and very affordable.
Nice bourbon for a good price.
Easy to drink, no complexity here, good mouth feel.
smooth, light and sweet, a good daily drinker
probably my favorite bourbon under $30. tad spicy, but very smooth and plenty complex. Goes great in an old fashioned
Very smooth with little or no bite. Light bodied, often starting off tasting slightly like a scotch
very good for price. smooth
First bourbon I've actually tried to evaluate. Nose is plenty sweet with vanilla and a bit of caramel and oak. Taste follows, a little hotter than warm but not unpleasant. Finish is dry, almost astringent, and oaky. A good bourbon I could drink everyday, and affordable enough to do so.
One of my favorite Bourbons.
underpriced for tasting quality great value Wonderful House bourbon
Vanilla, molasses, orange peel, oak, spice. The first bourbon that I fell in love with, and still one of the better everyday drinkers out there.
To me, Carmel first, then vanilly milly.
It's my daily go to bourbon, affordable just sweet enough, smooth, with vanilla!
A favorite value bourbon but, not a value taste. Oaken and vanilla flavoring.
Very good, vanilla notes, strong at first but a good finish.
Rather sweet, but easy drinkable bourbon with hints of vanilla
Cane sugar, caramel, orange zest
sweet but not too sweet. perfect on the rocks
The only time Elmer T. Lee has disappointed me. Supposedly same mash bill as Blanton's but not even close in taste, maybe it's just too young. I don't understand why the bottles are flying off shelves, maybe due to association w/Pappy? Would only use as a mixer.
Classico Bourbon que não desaponta. There is something about the balance and harmony between vanilla and caramel in this classic, with a smooth and sweet aftertaste ... que faz deste Bourbon presença obrigatória. Cheers!
My favourite bourbon, immediate taste of toffee on the palate and a fresh vanilla finish
Real nice vanilla/caramel flavors that don't diminish. I would love to try the other bourbons from this distillery.
Solid mixer. Same mash bill as blanton's, so it tastes very similar, just harsher and less mature
You've heard the name for a reason. Great value
Nothing really special. A good drink especially at that price point but a little harsher than I like
nice, slightly sweet, not spicy, low heat. enjoyable
a bit sweet, and verry accessible.
Simple and easy drinking. Sweet forward with mild spice on the tail. Surprisingly good at the peice.
Buffalo Trace is a good standby bourbon and due to its availability at a fair price, is a "go to" when others are unavailable on the shelf.
Clean, crisp bourbon aroma
Along with hints of citrus fruit, there is toffee followed by oak and mellow black pepper.
Long and woody with a peppery finish.
Good smell; bit strong for me but mellows nicely on ice. Good drinking on the rocks or as a mixer.
Bit strong but mellows on the rocks
excellent value. clean and great for sipping or mixing.
this whisky is pretty good neat, but can be easily drank on the rocks as well.. I tend to just drink it straight out of the bottle as I hate doing dishes CHEERS!
easy drinking. little burn. could drink on the rocks all night.
pretty good drinking bourbon
A very good bourbon neat, mixed, et al. You can't really go wrong with anything from BT.
Don't get a lot of wood, more sweet and grainy flavors. I like it
Good for sipping. Adding a little water (bottled not tap 2:1 whiskey /h2O) opens the flavor up.
Used with chilled polished granite stones rather than ice, keeps the ratio.
Personally, adding coke, Dr pepper etc, insults the spirit of the whiskey
Why drink whiskey or bourbon if just covering up its goodness, with junk?
Overall, a good little whiskey
Very smooth sipping whiskey. I try to keep a bottle on the shelf at all times.
Decent, standard bourbon. No complexity to me but still enjoyable. Few notes of sweet corn (my fiancée said it reminded her of caramel popcorn), very light wood, and a little spice (probably from some rye.) Overall it's a good entry bourbon at a good price.
Guter Bourbon mit tollem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
Süße Vanille, typisches Bourbon Aroma
Würzige Eiche, Karamell und Vanille
Süß und Würzig
easy drink, nice and smooth
Decent beginner's bourbon. Very basic, very straightforward. A viable alternative to Jim Beam White Label, for those price conscious bourbon fans looking for a change.
Best bourbon I've had and a steal for the price. Maybe not particularly complex but lovely nonetheless
Doesn't offer much in complexity and with 40% the whiskey looses its caracter if water is added. Beginner whiskey or daily driver for some people.
Nice daily drinker. Sweet taste with a little burn
this was my first bourbon.....it is great for the price with some burn...but not bad...price is also reasonable
sweet. caramel, vanilla, a little oak and leather. not too complex but a great daily drinker.
Best overall bourbon
The aroma is sweet with a hint of caramel followed by vanilla, and barrel char. The palate is very sweet with a mixture of buttered corn, and brown sugar. The finish is quick, and dry.
Sweet corn and Vanilla Cream. Best midrange bourbon currently available.
