very strong, smoke, salt great
First of all I want to note that this whisky is discontinued and will disappear in the future. It will become less and less available, and what a shame it is.
The nose starts off smokey, like a bonfire. After a few sniffs, spicy notes are becoming more and more prominent, and after that some sweetness appears.
On the palate, first it is very oily, and then the spicy and peppery character of Talisker kicks in. This whisky is way more spicy than peppery.
After that, there is some sweetness, from raisins and toffee, and always present but not overpowering, oak. The finish is long, and very enjoyable.
This is a NAS whisky, but it doesn't mean it's young: no mettalic taste.
This is a great whisky, it really captures the distillery character, so get it while it's still out there!
good, smokey, little burn in aftertaste
n: smoke, berries, maritime, sweet
t: sweet wood
a: spicy, black pepper, sweet
Note: 3+
6/10
I would think this is the 10 in a blind. Just more medicinal. Absolutely delicious dram with all of the quintessential Talisker notes.
Smoke and fruity sweetness. I like this a lot less than my tasting at duty free.
Fig,
Alcohol burn, smoke,
Brennt in der Nase. Rauch, etwas fruchtig.
Strong medical flavour. Water adds to complexity. Clouds nicely.
great value for money, can use a drop of water
great smoke but delicate, alcohol
rich, complex and greatly smoky
good smoke
Very warm and long finish, great with a few drops of water!
At the moment my favorite
.
water really brings out
Nose: sweet, not huge
Body: oily, toffee
Finish: warm, long, Medical
Nog beter dan de storm
Bonfire, speculaas, salt and oranges. Warming and lovely.
Wonderful Talisker, great value for the money, not complex but focused in an excellent way. I enjoyed it with water. The longer you wait the more present are the zests and the smoke. Mouthfilling and oily.
zests and decent smoke
Spices, pepper, oily, full
medium long, spicy, warming, lemon
Rich, oily, bonfire, salty, seeweed interesting, complex, full body and strong..adding water opens and gives fruity and praline notes, stay spicy, bonfire and salty to the end and leaves long aftertaste.
The next NAS Talisker in front of me. The 57% Talisker 57 north.
This amber gold dram leaves long legs.
Alcohol and smoke are both very strong. The salty smoke is pleasant but the alcohol begs for dilution. When the alcohol finaly is tamed the complex layers appear. Light summer fruits, bitter nut, spicy cinnamon, and a surprisingly sweet peat.
Very nice!
The oily taste has everything I like. A lot of alcohol and the usual peppery smoke. A little fruit in the back and a salty spray at front. Iodine completes.
The second zip is much more complex than the first. A little metallic youthness
loses some points here.
The finish leaves you snapping for breath. It's very long and very spicy.
First it starts of sweet, but a smooth teeth covering kick follows. Now the spice begins to swell rapidly. Until you run short of oxygen.
When everything is cooled down, a bittery sweetness appears and lingers for quite a while. Wow!
Very smoky, spicy and alcoholic. But what a NAS from Talisker this is again.
It only lost some points on it's youthness and on it's heavy thirst for water.
This kick in the ass, scored 92 points.
Sterke mooie whisky niet voor beginners
Great strong, but nice and tasteful whisky.
smoky oil on the nose. got a mild wood/peaty taste with a lot of burn to finish. a few drops of water really helps the different tastes come out.
amazing Whisky! watch review for more infos.
Asian spices
Light smoke but not very Hard
seaweed

More salty
More spices
very pleasent and not that aggresive
long with spices
less peated then the 10y, more fruity in the beginning, ripe taste, lots of pepper in the end. Delicious!
just like the 10 year old but this one is bottled at 57 %. that higher alcohol % gives you that extra kick. highly recommended.
A great peated Whisky. Not as well balanced as the distillers edition, though.
A very good NAS whisky from Talisker. Not great, not close to their 18 year old, but enjoyable.
taste is in front of you mouth. little, nice explosion.
A beast! Must have another bottle again
Great tasting whisky, with some water ist gets smoother an you can find more tastes than without.
good
