easy on the nose
smooth, no harsh taste.
A very good bourbon. Low Rye, nut has spice and wood and a nice full flavor. Not a lot of sweetness. ABV 45.7%.
Bitter taste. Not impressed.
caramel, vanilla, smooth
sweet, vanilla, caranel
Just the right spice, good vanilla and caramel mix
smooth with a little spice but not too long.
This one came highly recommended so maybe I was expecting more. Very good but not great like I was hoping.
10 year. orang, vanilla, molasses
sweet, nice, candy
almonds and brown sugar a favorite
Dark. Aroma has lots of marzipan and sugared almonds. A bit firey. Growing vanilla sweetness in the finish.
standard vanilla and caramel on the nose with a strong acetone note initially, rye spice also with a medium finish.
vanilla & caramel, mild spice on the finish. almost no char notes. dangerously drinkable.
reminds me deeply of Elijah Craig, with less barrel char on the finish.
This bourbon has long been one of my favorite go to daily drinker whiskies
Nice bourbon, maybe a bit lacking on the nose. A nice aroma but you need to bury your nose in it. Nicely balanced, slightly sweet, vanilla, brown sugar, a touch of citrus.
caramel nose. cherry vanilla on the palate.
one of my new favorites. wonderful nose and taste.
After all the good things I have heard about this whiskey, I was very disappointed. It has a very good nose, but that is where the goodness ends. This whiskey has a very strange flavor profile. These flavors and I do not agree. There is way too much astringency in this for me. I cannot recommend given all the great affordable bottles out there.
nose is oak and lots of rye slice
Not a bad bourbon. Classic nose of cherry, vanilla and oak. Taste is nothing to write home about, but definitely not bad. However, spealking as a European who has to pay between 40 to 50 €, there is much more interesting bourbon available in this price range.
Just had the belverie which was much better
Nose is oak and a bit of corn. Taste is heavy on the rye, spicy, and a decent heat. I got a hint of cherry in the finish, which was medium length and very little burn. Not bad, but not exciting either.
recommend sipping on the rocks. maybe a splash of orange Bitters to ramp up the taste
a little heavy on rye, but super smooth regardless
Smooth and sweet.
Overall and decent bourbon. Bit of a high rye mash bill for my liking to enjoy it neat. Have found I enjoy it best as a cocktail.
sweet floral nose with cherries. taste is sweet honey and caramel with spicey nutmeg
smooth. very good
spicy but sweet
Strong, rich smell with spicy, full taste.
bland, corn and spice
This scanned bottle of Michter's Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Batch No. 17J1373 was purchased after my entry was drawn from the April 2018 Idaho State Rare Bourbon Lottery.
Faint hints of ripe banana are hidden behind chocolate covered maraschino cherries. No spice of any kind is detected on the nose.
A sweet warming oily mouth feel blends with simple syrup, light chocolate and cherries. There is subtle rye spice, and a pepperiness, mixed with cinnamon red hot candy. This is a smooth, well blended bourbon, although the chocolate and cherry flavors fade quickly.
The warming bourbon feel in the mouth and on the tongue lingers like honey as the flavors fade away.
Too sharp and spicy for me
I thought I had gotten a sour mash by mistake. Not as good as other reviews led me to believe. A bit astringent for me.
decent bourbon. normal characteristics of vanilla and spice. not as good as michters unblended whiskey. needs more body.
Harsh on the front. Decent flavor. Underwhelming actually
Great bourbon from a great distillery.
brown sugar with apple
butterscotch flavor and smooth. faint cocoa.
thinner finish but satisfying
Medium range, harsh on the front, smoother at the end, needs more body.
nose has vanilla notes and toffee. palate is rich and flavorful, oak, char. finish is long and juicy.
Excellent mix of oak, smoke and sweet vanilla. Smoother than most.
