This whiskey is quiete a surprise. I usually like Single Malts especially islay but I love the a little spiceness in this whiskey. gives it a very unique taste.
nice supprise, heavy rye on the nose, then hit with the spice on the pallet last a while but faids to a nice floral sweet
weich, süss-blumig, Vanille, Roggen
süss, würzig-bitter, leicht metallisch, die leicht bittere Getreidenote hält sich lange, wird dann wieder von der blumigen Süsse abgelöst
round rye spices on the nose, brown sugar, even some interesting undertones of dill, too. initially hot and spicy palate, big hit right off the bat. moves into pepper with that same dill note, then a short finish that's got a tannic quality to it. can't wait to try it as a mixer, but I'm unlikely to drink it straight often.
a bit too spicy. it's a burny.
Full flavour, spicy rye. Worth the few extra dollars from bottom of the barrel stuff. Good as a mixer and as a sipping whisky.
nice spicy rye
rich in taste, rye as it is
rich and intensive, you vana smell rye and spices, fruits
sweetness and spices, rich taste
sweetness and spices continues
Lowish 43% proof is made up by the stirring spice that wakes up the tongue, 100% rye showing the floral spice off compared to Rittenhouse 51% rye which is sweeter rounder w more viscous mouthfill. Yummy and anti-boring this 100% rye.
My favourite rye for the dollar.
deep rich colour with mild to moderate oil content (legs)
oak wood shavings and a sweet fruit, almost red Apple, like gala, but less spikey with a faint pickle in the background.
light dill pickle at first that is quickly overtaken by black pepper and oak barrel
has a mild to moderate linger of oak barrel, and dill pickle that transforms over time into sweet butter pickle in the background of the oak
Lovely sweet spicy whiskey
very bold taste, that's why we love it
Rye is a spicy whiskey by nature. A bit rough around the edges, and not a full as it could be. Still, worth the $$
not as smooth as others I've tried but overall a descent whisky for the price
Lovely nose which promises more than it's yet able to give. Reminiscent of a slightly older Dad's Hat.
Rich and smooth but definitely needs to be decentered to mellow it out.
strong medicinal so needs to mellow
rich and full, very smooth
caramel with a touch of leather
