great whiskey
Once again, a whiskey from the Great White North disappoints... though less so than most. Drinkable, as a mixer.
Great spin on the original. Worth picking up.
Tipping it's hat to the brand's flagship: Barrel Select, it takes that flavour profile and kicks it up!
Creamy brown sugar, that unmistakable rye twang, overripe stone fruit, dusty country road.
Tastes like a sunset! With lighter flavours deepening, mingling and gaining complexity.
Toffee and baking spices coupled with a sugary sweet maltiness are balanced by the tart snap of dusty rye grains and the tannic earthiness of oak.
The slighly higher proof reinforces the ethereal nature of this beautiful whisky. It offers fleeting glimpses of lighter characters, and it evolves into a more rounded and lively dram.
Slightly heavy and oily, it leaves a medium-long finish that lingers without being too dominant.
