Soepel, subtiel vanille, caramel, licht rook. Wat weinig uitgesproken
Als eerste Whisky van de avond vind ik deze te heftig qua Jodiumssmaak.
very smoky and peaty. full flavor that lingers for a long time. slight burn on your lips at the end.
Cigarette smoking mermaid
Very brine forward, citrus on the back, ashy
This old botteling of Laphroaig 10 is slightly different than the new ones.
A bit less agressive and more body.
Whoa....smacks you in the face. Smells very smoky/petty with a briny/salty/dark chocolate/medicine
Taste is obviously very smoky/petty, wet ash hit to the back of the throat with a briny/iodine/campfire finish.
interesting....enjoyed it. Don't think I could have it every day though. Actually scratch that...the more I drink of it, the more I like it. Its fantastic!
nice whiskey, good for its price. not as punchy as some of the higher value laphroigs but a very good drinking whiskey
Торф, дым, копчености, морские водоросли, йод, бинты, перец. Фрукты фоном. Отличный нос и долгое послевкусие. Легендарная Айла во всей красе.
Extremely smokey/peaty. Pairs well with flavorful meats and salty snacks.
Peaty/smoky, strong earth tones
Peat, burnt oak, pepper, tobacco, oiled together
Peat, burnt oak, pepper
Olha, ele é inferior ao Quarter Cask contudo ótimo!!
Mais defumado e gosto de charuto!
I like this one and appreciate the level of peat! Not quite as enjoyable as Talisker 10 though.
Popped my peat cherry with this little guy right here. First sniff is the smell of a burning bog. Fire, smoke, swamp (peat), and the sea sprinkled in. On first sip: poison. Tastes like there should be a Mr. Yuck sticker on it and placed in your cleaning supplies storing area. But after a few sips to coat your tongue. The initial shock of drinking medicine reveals Smokey, peaty goodness, with a bitter seaweed twinge. Can’t wait to keep drinking this and see how it evolves. I should hate it, but boy do I love it.
Smoke and Swamp
Smoke, seaweed, medicine, vanilla I’d you te hard enough
Peat, smoke, hospital, bandats, gauze, Iodine, sweet, little fruity. No spice
Hey welcome to the camp fire! We had to use the rest of the band aids to keep the fire going.
This is my Islay benchmark. Strong smoky flavor, a little complexity to add intrigue, and a light finish. A consistent choice when you're in the mood for peaty goodness.
Nice Peaty whiskey, 43% vs. 40% abv of their lowest price offering. Good starter Laphroaig, with that Peaty, briney medicinal flavor.
Brine, seaweed, medicinal
Sweet honey, Smokey Peat, a bit thin
Very smoky but not too much.
A lot happening after the peat.
not my favorite, very medicinal, but nice smoky smell and finish.
Für mich der Islay-Whisky schlechthin. Definitiv kein Everyday-Dram aber im richtigen Monent der beste Whisky der Welt.
Strong medicinal flavours. Highly peat on the nose. Not as strong on the flavours as expected. The finishing somehow disappointing
Medicinal, sanitizer, smoky, sharp
definitely smokey it is young so a little harsh there is a pleasant sweetness with a smokey finnish
smoke and csramel
very Smokey and smooth. complex with notes of old leather and oil. quite pleasant if you're looking for a Smokey whiskey
musty, mild peat, substantial smoke.
very Smokey and rich. mildly oily. mossy, but smooth. complex and rich. old leather and mahogany
medium oily finish, pleasant, not over powering
smoke and salt dissolves to salted caramel and honey
Band aids, vanilla creme, sea spray and ham on the nose, savory and sweet on the buttery palate, the finish is medium length and warming with the savory and sweet interplaying to the end.
My go-to when it comes to peated whisky
Smokey on the nose and a strength of peat to satisfy most. light and easy to drink...to easy
Getting to the notes...
First time: rich sweet smoke reminiscent of smoked almonds, burnt rubber tire, medicinal
Later: vanilla, sharp green apple under the oak
oily with the smoke lingering and rolling closer to campfire
heavy peat, drowns out most other flavors for me. easy to sip on a cool fall night
light and peated, great whisky for the price.
A very intense peated whisky,lots of flavors,you will have peat,iodine, salt,oak,fruit and sweetness.great dram
Bonfire,peat smoke,sweet,and fruit,but overall it's just peat and ash
Peat,seaweed,oak,iodine,vanilla,fruit,peppery and ash
Peat with iodine,saltines
Medicinal nose, nothing else than heavy peat.
Just peat in the nose, strong, like smell of hospital.
Surprisingly balanced, much peat, just slight smoke, a little iodine and dark chocolate.
Peat, chocolate and some more smoke.
this is the first whisky Im reviewing. as I smell it, it's a familiar but unnameable antiseptic fragrance first followed by the familiar campfire aroma. It tastes medicinal, with sweetness and smokiness. The sweetness lingers on the tongue. the alcohol burn is mild. the sweetness reminds me of almonds.
WOAH. Unlike anything I've ever tasted. Gasoline? Peat? Vivi had at the fire pit at SES Point Clear.
Kräftiger Whisky mit Rauch. Gut abgestimmt und auch für non-Smoker angenehm zu trinken.
very smokey, okay taste
I love it. the first pleated whiskey I ever had was a two weeks ago. that was Peat Chimney. Laphroig reminds ds me of the smell of the oil burning off of bbq chicken as it is cooking. Pure bbq and campfire smell and taste.
like the ash and smoke that's left after a bonfire in a bog.
not happening for me. I love peaty smoky scotches. The L10 comes across with a medicinal flavor and some peat on the finish and not much else. Do yourself a favor and only buy a dram of this and NOT a bottle. Save it for an Ardbeg 10 or something similar.
피트함이 부드럽게 느껴지고 부드러워 아드백보다 임팩트가 약한 편. 환경ㄴㄴ 다시 마셔볼 것
One of a kind
To me it's a good whisky. Quite smoky on the nose and taste. However the aftertaste is surprisingly fruity. On the nose it smells like bandages.
Smoky up front, but once the smoke subsides you're left with a very medicinal, almost chemical taste. I can only drink it it it's the first thing I drink.
Salt, Peat, Lemon, Almond, Pear, Raisin, Ash, Grass
Each sip is very interesting.
Salt, Paint Thinner, Smoke, Pear, Lemon
Raisin, Tar, Ash, Almond, Grass, Earthiness
Clean, Sweet, Almond, Lemon
Acceptable. Més arestes que el Lagavulin 16
peaty, and a bit briney.
Smokey and rough
very smoky, a bit of Salt, heavy Wood, long aftertaste
They say it's like kissing a mermaid that had barbecue for lunch. What can I say that improves on that?
Always good when enjoying with some aged mountain cheese.
Really Smoking. But at the end good to enjoy
Old faithful. It is my litmus test for peat and smoke forward whiskeys.
like it or but it is really complex. smell and taste has many layers. smoke, tarr, old wood, peat and raisins, nuts as well as fruits fresh green apple. long creamy finish. intriguing whisky
You will either love or hate it, for me seaweed taste was overwhelming. Its good experience but I was glad it's only sample bottle.
разнообразный дымный вкус, прекрасен для медленного смакования
Its like drinking a campfire 🔥 🔥 My favorite so far
Briny nose, iodine and notes of caramel. Pleasant finish.
Solid, peaty finish.
Einer meiner Favoriten. Torfig mit Holznoten, blumig, Vanillearoma, Meersalz, langer Abgang.
smoke, peat, iodine, sea water. aggressive, long lasting and quite delicious.
I know many love this but definitely not for me. The medicinal peat flavour leaves a terrible aftertaste for me.
Intense. Medicinal smoke, brine, floral sweetness, maybe vanilla. A classic.
peat than some
sweet honey, strong flavor
obvious smoke on the nose with sweet honey and floral undertones. the palate sweet mid palate with mild tannin. medicinal smoke finish that is long and mouth coating
Very aromatic and smooth with vanilla essence.
A solid example of an Islay malt, great peaty flavour
This was my first introduction to a heavily peated type. It was a total game changer for me. light in color and body. Easy to drink, especially if you enjoy the bandaid. A little salt to keep me coming back for another sip. Instantly my favorite for now. I love how Laphroaig gives you a piece of land with every bottle making it special every time.
Classic Islay single malt, foundational sipper.
Peat forward but clear reflection of the barrel. Some vanilla and caramel elements, present salinity. Makers Mark barrels charred at a 7.
Peat smoke, back of palate, hearty tot! Add a smidge of water tames the smoke, and brings out the fruit.
Smoke and oranges! Long.
This is my go-to Islay. Tons of smoke and peat and bring, but balanced. I anticipate drinking many, many more drams of this.
medically disinfecting ... now I am resistant to EBOLA
I guess I just havent found the right Islay yet. this smoke tasted like creosote on bad BBQ. A bitter smoke.
peat, smoke, sea salt.
Smoked salmon, leather, salt.
preferred with a few drops of water
love the smokey aroma
smoky smooth, leather polish with iodine and a bit of honey in the finish. surprisingly smooth.
medicinal, peaty and smokey. I love it so much! My love for single malt began with Laphroaig. it's an acquired taste and not one I would recommend particularly as a gift to someone who isn't accustomed to whisky. if you enjoy Islay malts, smokey and/or peaty malts then this is a must try. I'm never without a bottle. a fair price too for a very good whisky.
Great smokey flavor with iodine, very smooth finish. My favorite when im in the mood for something intense.
So smokey. Love it.
medicinal and peaty with a nice smoke flavor
oily smoky on the nose smooth taste with a hint of peat.
The nose reminds me of charred steak. The taste is extremely peaty but smooth going down. Not bad but not as good as expected.
Smokey. Not bad, but Caol Ila is a better choice for a smokey Scotch.
I like the peat and smoke, but it just has a rough, unfinished texture to it.
Overwhelming smoke/campfire on the nose with medicinal peaty notes. Tastes great.. Seaweed, peat, iodine, cherrywood. Divine
If you like heavily peated and smoky scotches this is for you. I don't like these though. There is some fruit beneath the smoke that seems good but the smoke/peat just overpower everything else.
After drinking L10yr for over 25 years it's difficult to fault the scotch I love. Smokey, peat with what I call a medicinal taste, add no more than a teaspoon of h2O, it's heaven on Earth.
Smoky, peaty goodness!
like the smokey, might like something with more flavor profile. Very smooth though.
Peaty on the nose, but also notes of honey and vanilla. Smooth. slight alcohol buzz when held.
smooth and Smokey with a wonderful smell. one of my favorites for under $100 cad
Smoke and saltwater
Smooth and smoky. Definitely a fan of this whiskey!
Those who do not like Peated whiskey, please avoid this.
Personally, I love peated whiskeys and this is one of the best. Strong peatiness, mixed with subtle flavours make this an all time classic, which cannot go wrong for Islay lovers.
Gross. If one were to stew bandaids in Anbesol, throw in a little alcohol and dirt, they'd have a pretty close match to Laphroaig. I guess I'm not sophisticated enough for this one.
Sehr rauchig medizinisch phenolisch danach angenehme süße
My favorite everyday Islay. I love the rich, smoky, medicinal peatiness of this whisky. I've enjoyed more expensive expressions of the Laphroaig distillery, but this is the one whisky I hate to be without.
My favourite peated whisky for everyday use. Complex taste with medicinal base. It definetely has a character.
Is full-bodied, smoky gem with a little sweetness and a hint of salt. Peaty characters before a long warming finish.I recommend for fans of peat and smoke.
A lovely drink
Very smoky, like ashes in a woodstove. Am learning to like.
