Gifted from Jiujiu. Exceptionally smooth. Good amount of peat.
An Italian car of whisky. Looks, feels and smells amazing... and yet it doesn't quite work enough of the time...
Well, I've waited a long time to crack into a bottle of this stuff... And so, finally... Here it is. The nose... Immediately, sweetness. Sherry sweetness of citrus and dried fruits and honey there. Sweet and warm, my wife terms this. There's light vanilla and caramel and it's going to be oh so smooth... So far, interesting without blowing me away... Well, I've heard the mouthfeel is amazing... So...
The palate. The palate... is... again, interesting... Like the father of a JW Black Label 12, for the smoke is there, the peat, adding leather from the older whisky influences. There's a fruit burst too, again, citrus in origin but also chocolate, like a chocolate and raisin combo. The fruit? Mandarin. The chocolate bar I'm thinking of is Old Jamaica by Bourneville. So? On we go...
Long. Pretty long. It dries a little, with more chocolate, only this time, chocolate orange with a zesty vibe like burnt orange peel. Some cinnamon intervenes from time to time and then... it's over...
As Jim Murray termed this whisky, it is the most frustrating whisky in the world, and finally, I understand what he meant. All of the individual parts point to brilliance and yet, for all the magnificent machinery of this, the engine seems to stall. I would love to love it, but I can't... yet.
Excellent scotch very smooth and yummy. Too expensive
Vanilla cherries oak smoke whiff
Lovely fruit sherry vanilla and pear. Damn! Some floral notes as well as cake. Woodsy and dense pine. Definitely vibe-Ing on this
Delicious lingering Carmel notes
very sweet, fruity, rich malty taste, very very slight hint of smoke
well-balanced aroma, noticeable tones of smoke, sherry and others
Nose is subtle but delightful with malt, honey, berries, peaches, citrus, light spices and peat smoke.
Palate has a milky consistency and displays balance between all the notes of the nose plus almond, toffee and chocolate notes.
Finish is short, a little warming and disappointing given the great notes on the palate.
I can’t help but imagine how awesome this would be at a higher proof.
was nice to try but not interested in buying again
Smooth but the finishing is undesirable. Very disappointed especially for the price
If you want smooth with less distinct flavor. This is great. However way overpriced for what you get
small airplane size bottle
Velvetty smooth. Ginger, oak, mineral, light smoke, some vanilla, dry finish.
pricey dram but worth the smell for the most part
Peat. malty. apple crust. nuts. dried fruits. leather. orange. fruity. barley sugar. sherry. honey. oak. apricot jam. fruit tart. vanilla. rasins.
oily. smoke. peat. smooth. velvety. salt. sea salt. sweet.
spice. bready. smoke. salt. sweet. velvety smooth. delish.
Nose: Peat and smoke, citrus, custard
Taste: light smoke up front followed by vanilla and burnt caramel.
Finish: Smooth, light, creamy custard finish.
Water: Nose- citrus, smoke fades
Taste- citrus and vanilla with more oak.
Finish- pastry dessert.
Charcoal burn, basically Black Label on steroids. High alcohol burn. Muddy. To me Blue Label is a status thing. You can get a much better Scotch for 20-25% of the price.
Zu glatt, zu weich. Ein Whisky, der alles daran setzt, nicht aufregend zu sein.
Für Liebhaber dieser Whiskies sicherlich ein Genuss.
mild, Sherry, etwas Eiche, Frucht, Karamellbutter
mild, etwas Muskat, Malzkaffee
dezent, Toffee, Vanille
Nose: Pleasant peat and muted oak
Palate: Sweet apple, smoky oak, evergreen, toffee
Light and smooth, very little heat
Fair finish
Smooth, smoke, easy
Smoke, sugar
Smooth, easy
Levemente turfado e esfumaçado; frutas secas, mel. Desce fácil
Turfa, fruta seca
Maçã, mel
Médio
A solid choice, the best you can go for in blends. Fruity on the palate, with a predominant taste of apple. A sweet aftertaste.
Fruits. Apple.
Sweet.
The whisky was wonderful. I had a glass neat and then with a range of different foods. The combination of spice and smoothness blended well with a range of foods.
From the neat drink, it had a perfectly synchronized smoke, spice, and sweetness. Although it was very smooth there was more than enough richness and there was a surprisingly nice finish.
Very smooth. Very sweet. A little disappointing to be honest. I may have built it up too much in my head. Its not bad but both the green and gold label are much better
i like this one, but it's very overpriced for what you get.
smooth whisky
não vale o preço, mas é um bom blend. Apesar da textura simples, é frutado, um pouco defumado e picante
mel, defumado, frutas cítricas
maçã, doce, defumado e um pouco picante
picante e doce no retrogosto
Excellent blend. Overpriced though...
Best blended whisky i have tasted.
looking for this for quite awhile...
one of the smoothest whisky's I've ever had and it was nice BUT, I'm not so sure it's worth the hype and price... nevertheless it as some nice notes of Honey, vanilla, fruit, background smoke, lemon and Ginger...
Finally trying this one.. let's see if it meets the hype..
was definitely a great dram, worth trying, wish it was more affordable to keep stocked
Honey ,Sherry, woody, caramel
oily, medium mouth, Peat, Spice,Honey, very pleasant sweetness
Spice, Oakey, Suttle Smoke,
nose: fresh fruity apple, honey, light smoke and vanilla
pallet: smooth, spicy, sweet, a nice oaky note
finish: spicy and oaky
Smooth drink with a nice smokiness afterwards.
smooth upfront and smokey after taste.... worth the price
very smooth that is a little earthy.
The presentation (box and bottle) lets you know that this is a expensive whisky.in my opinion its overpriced.is a good whisky but the platinum label is just as good as the blue but so much cheaper.overall a great blend as whisky lover you must taste at least once a blue label, but price wise I wouldn't buy this again
oakines,spicey,citrus,sweet
smooth mouthfeel, nuts, honey, chocolate followed by soft peat smoke
spicey and sweet with smoke in the background
Nice whisky but over price,
The ultimate 18 is better for the quality / price
Good balanced whiskey but a liite bit overpriced.
Slightly overpriced, well balanced but lacking in particularly strong flavours
Sweet and light nose, caramel and vanilla taste notes a bit of spice, short finish
Too pricey for what it delivers
very smooth but not worth the price
Smooth
good, but didn't make any bold choices
has sadly been neutered
Pretty smooth. Cherry. Some sweetness. Spice. Caramel. Not inspiring, not one of my favorites, especially for the price.
so smooth and good
very smooth blend with subtle smoke and a complex variety of aromas
Smooth & sweet, and not a lot of other flavors. My most expensive dram so far..
Honey, smokey
Smooth, sweet
Light smoke and sweetness
nose gives you malt, some spices, vanilla, some dark chocolate, very light smoke. palate moves through shortbread, buttercream frosting, red apple, then some oaky spices. finish starts with apples, then moves into vanilla and oak spices. it's good but not worth the hype to me. I'd drink again, but I'm not buying anything beyond a sample bottle in the future.
Not great value for the price. Amazing nose which is balanced and interesting. Palate is painfully round and flat. Would rather buy many others for the price of one bottle.
Very good whisky
Special occasion sipper.
plain. over priced
Very plain taste, with mainly vanilla and fruit notes.
it's a really good whisky. there isnt much else to say. the perfect gift for someone who casually enjoys whisky and wants something for the upper shelf.
smooth. maybe thin
remarkably average at the price!
Best scotch ever!!!
Peat and smokey
This is a good intro for friends new to blended Scotch
boring for the price. "not offencive"
balance between smoke and peat is great. spice within is on point. definitely one to share a glass over a deep conversation
smooth to drink and a nice balanced between the smoke and peat
Enjoyable and nicely balanced but nothing remarkable. Whilst it doesn't feel like it's lacking depth it does seem a little busy and nothing is prominent as a consequence.
Oak core, dried fruits, berries, hint of citrus and vanilla.
Nicely balanced. Light mouthfeel. Subtly sweet, hint of toffee, vanilla, orange citrus. Malt and hint of smoke.
Quite gentle, medium-long. Lightly peppered warmth. Malty. Hints of the sweetness remain.
what a variety of complex flavours
Lives up to its reputation, but I personally like the platinum better for smoothness and depth of flavour.
Love it for a blend. A lot of 🤑 but people who leave a bad review are just bitter about coughin up the dough. Smooth as hell
Very smooth, nice amount of peat through the taste. Personally I would buy JW Platinum or Gold for nearly as good and less than half the price.
Had a sample bottle and finished it, it was decent, my father bought a bottle and we're not opening it. Too pricey in my opinion.
go to drink when I can find it for under 170.
duur voor wat het id
Too expensive, payed for the name not the taste.
Farbe: apfelgold
Aroma: Rosine, Haselnuss, Torfrauch, mild, sanft, Trockenobst
Geschmack: mild, würzig, süß
Abgang: Torfrauch, sehr lang
Bewertung: sehr leckerer Blend, allerdings zu teuer
80 von 100 Punkten
I love Johnnie Walker, but at $200ish dollars there are better Scotch Whiskys to wet your whistle.
good whiskey but not worth the price. better options out there and feel black is almost as good and much less in cost
would not give to any friends of mine but only to a whisky novice to get used to the peat notes as this one is a very smooth blend
Smoky, overpriced.
Nice, smooth blended.
I am a JW enthusiast. That being said....at over 2 bills, blue label is overpriced in my opinion. Its good, but the gold label reserve tastes better and cost less than half of blue.
Smooth smokey Whisky
Splendid whiskey easy to drink with nice soft taste. I will buy a bottle again
Excellent whisky and very nice to try once but I would not buy it again.
excellent. the perfect smoke and goes great with any food pairing.
Neus: veel fruit, mandarijn; honing; sherry; lichte rokerigheid
Smaak: zacht; elegant; kruidig; zoetigheid, honing
Afdronk: lang, kruidig, zacht
Simple and not complex at all. Boring for the price. Get a Glenmorangie instead.
