General description

Valinch is the instrument used to draw whisky from a cask; making this whisky well named due its cask strength & un-chill filtered nature. This is a limited batch release. The 2012 version is bottled at 57.2 (114.4 proof) aged in first fill ex-bourbon casks. This is a cask strength version of their standard Auchentoshen Classic bottling

Nose

ethanol, banana, sulphur, custard, apple, toffee, pepper, quite astringent although water enhances the vanilla which calms things slightly

Palate

ethanol, baked apple, sultanas & cinnamon? Crème caramel, muscovado sugar possibly candied orange peel

Finish

baked apples, salted caramel, white pepper + candy floss
