Nice and smooth, but lacks complexity

Nice and smooth, but lacks complexity
* * *
A very nice and complex Bourbon that is not as sweet as the nose wood suggest (pun intended)
The Standard Bourbon nose: Dusty corn with icing sugar, vanilla and cherry (sweet fresh cherries). But I'm also getting a nice added oak spice and saw dust notes.
Sweet fruit and a slight tangy candy corn note. Vanilla rides next with a burst of energetic oak spice (think clove, white pepper and nutmeg) and butter. Then it settles into the finish
You can briefly taste the youngness to it but it is quickly enveloped in more mellow spice and toasted vanilla and charcoal from burnt toast. And just lingering on for a long time is charcoal and a little cherry
Würziger Antritt, danach süße und Karamell
Mild und süß
almonds, vanilla, marzipan. that sort of thing...plenty going on
A step up bourbon
oak, vanilla, cinnamon, sweet
very rich, komplex, vanilla, coconut, old wood
First time with Woodford. Heard a lot of good talks about it.
Maybe I expected too much :/
A lot of vanilla, cocoa and oak.
Not complex, I mean that it doesn't challenge you.
Too much smooth, I personally don't like that kind of stuff.
More vanilla and oak plus coffee.
Not aggressive, it changes between spices and oak.
nice smooth bourbon and can be found any where
Will show up every day and give you a good performance. A staple of any good lineup. The Adam Jones of bourbons.
Nice tasting whiskey. Smooth with good flavour
Caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, doughnuts. Nice oak finish with a touch of barrel note. in a word...delicious.
a typical bourbon tastwith a lot of vanilla and some caramel.
Very nice one
One word, Great!!!
For sure one of the best bourbons I tasted!!
a good whiskey
Woodford Reserve is a fantastic well rounded bourbon. Sweet vanilla and chocolate nose. Oily palate with hints of orange. And a very full well rounded finish with spicy notes at the forefront.
Sweet vanilla, Wood, Spice, and slight floral notes. And the occasional note of dark chocolate 20/25
Oily but pleasent mouthfeel. Slight Orange, Spices, Alcohol heat. Very well rounded19/25
A long full finish, with spicy notes 19/25
A nice bourbon with some more depth than a cheap basic one, but a little bit expensive.
smooth, warming, sweet, corn, caramel, vanilla, light leather, no smoke, honey, orange
light oak, sweet, creamy, medium proof, thick
drying sweetness, long, nice body
Very elegant and balanced for an entry level Bourbon. Rye, vanilla, oak, spices, honey, toffee. A must have for the price.
nose: dried banana chips, Hawaiian tropic suntan oil. coconut, sandalwood, sawdust and pencil shavings. Palate: pepper, oak, a slight dry rye bite and all the bonuses that comes with. apricot, honey, with a super long very celestial finish
smooth and deep enough for the range
Very good for a basic bourbon.
stock bourbon. a good house bourbon guests will recognize and appreciate if they aren't deep into bourbon circles
great for sipping or mixing
great value at under $40
Strong somewhat overpowering, lengthy burn blocks most other distinct flavors
bit too much alcohol taste insteas of a good whisky taste
A good bourbon. Just a little too sweet for me. Highly recommended to new tasters. Strong vanilla notes wirh some oak. Price point is good.
I find American bourbon can be very hit and miss. It's either below par or outstanding. Luckily Woodford Reserve Distillers Select is in the outstanding category.
Superb rich/dark oak wood flavour on the initial hit with a good taste of alcohol, not too much, but just enough. This leads way to smoothness and a creamy mouth feel with lovely sweet caramel and burnt sugar.
If you are new to bourbon skip all the usual stuff like Jim Beam and Jack Daniels. Pay the little bit extra for in my mind THE best entry level bourbon on the market.
Exceptional bourbon one which will sit in my cabinet for a long time to come.
Rich, dark, woody and spicey
Pleanty of oak wood spice. Creamy and smooth with burnt sugar and rich caramel flavour.
Sweet and spicey.
Smooth. Simple. Modestly priced.w
nose rye alchol
palate triple Spike hot burn to
bourbon oak very short finish.
alchol 8 minutes airtime
sweet apple to triple Spike hot peppers and nothing...
Warm inviting sweet vanilla apple and caramel
The best bourbon Ive tasted!
Smooth and slightly sweet, vanilla and caramel with some oak, very slight spicyness. Delicious, currently my favourite bourbon
Sharing and mixing Bourbon. Not a big fan of it.
one of my favorites
Such a beautiful bottle for the shelf, great presentation of the bourbon, smells vanilla, peach, blueberry maybe...on the taste not so sweet, bitter cocoa warm and long after taste, dried currants.Like it very much!
One of my all time favourites. Very sweet, good for beginners.
Solid basic quality bourbon. I find it harsh to sip.
too much leather flavor but it's good
It is a good balanced Bourbon.. pleasant tasting to me.. Away have a bottle on my shelf.
This is the Bourbon I compare all others to. A nice necessary starter Bourbon with a great caramel taste. Nice to have around.
my go to whisky. good sipping
very nice Bourbon for sipping and in cocktails.
very well. goes down great, and in my honest opinion, I do enjoy this preferably neat. very well done
Had Woodford Reserve early on in my bourbon experience. I need to circle back and have it again as I remember it to be a good sip.
Nice sipping bourbon and even better on the rocks.
Balanced and tasty.
Good value for money. The first bottle was offered to me. Since then, I buy regularly.
only bourbons here.... but not dissapointment. an easy to drink and sweet fruity whiskey
Great every day drinker.
Smooth and a good alternative to your standard Single Malt whisky.
Oakey, a bit sweet, but still not as smooth as I'd like.
very good oaky bourbon
beetje zoet, voelt lekker kruidig en goede nasmaak en lekker zacht
Classic Kentucky bourbon. Great on its own for experienced bourbon fans or beginners. Can't do much better at this price point for an American whiskey.
exploisie in de mond, veel fruit en beetje hout.
Tasty alone but better in a Kentucky smash. One of my favorites.
smooth whiskey, Nice bottle, taste is not to Sweet. watchout with adding extra water though.
licht zoetig; hout; geparfumeerd
