Classic Bourbon but upped because of the proof.
pretty standard bourbon on the nose. Carmel and vanilla. keeps with the pallette followed with a bit of oak and hazelnut. finish is smooth and lingers nicely. good for the price.
A bit pricey, worth trying though. This one had a "musty" nose and flavor I thought, with nice baking spices and a bit of a bite at first. I preferred this one mixed rather than sipped which disappointed me for the price. Not my favorite but only because I prefer different flavor notes than this one offered.
beautiful nose, very bright, but still smooth
very cinnamon, nutty, citrus, some vanilla, hazelnut. tons of cinnamon.
so very tasty. mint, lemon, chocolate
sweet but normal
refreshing mint, pear
hazelnut, candy, hay
little bitter
I taste hazelnut more than vanilla. great bourbon.
Caramel Taste, syrupy over the lips, then a burn.
Very smooth and an easy drinker. I get some hints of walnut in there, alongside classic vanilla and oak notes
Very hot, dry but fairly smooth. Mix of caramel, corn, and wheat flavor.
Great bourbon for the price definitely will be a regular drinker.
can't buy this is michigan for some reason. I always have a bottle on hand but do prefer something smoother
Spice intensely with strong heat at the beginning to the end, with a longish finish. Instant acid digestion.
This is very good bourbon. This is my first tasting of a Willett product. Very interesting and new to my taste buds. This is not in my normal flavor profile. A very fresh change. I wish this was available in North Carolina. I can't wait to crack my bottle of Noah's Mill that lingers in my collection.
Rowen's is sourced, not sure from where bc this has heavy oaky nose and early palate, very prominent. Spicy and oaky but reveals nice density of mid-palate that is missing in something like EH Taylor Single barrel which is comparable at 100 proof. Add a bit of water to smooth things out.
Ok sipper. Pretty unexciting, I think it would be a great mixer if you were looking for a woody, spicy button to mix with. Notes of light, sweet vanilla, that builds to a nice cinnamon burn and leaves you with a woody aftertaste.
Vanilla, lightly sweet, cinnamon, woody
Slick mouth feel, heat slowly builds to a cinnamon bite, slightly sweet
Wood tannin, charred bark, heat sticks around
I usually enjoy high ABV bourbon. Unfortunately, this bourbon is too aggressive neat for my liking. Once I hit it with some water the flavors were able to come out and I was able to enjoy the dram. I'm guessing there is significant rye in the Mash Bill. If that's your thing, then you might enjoy the whiskey. Not on my buy again list.
Smells of green apple, and after the first sip you smell the (fake) cinnamon. Taste is hot and (fake) cinnamon, like Red Hots as someone mentioned.
Apple, red hots
Red hots
Oak
The comment about Noah's watered is spot on.
That's why you can stand in the same place and see both rowan's creek and Noah's Mill. I think it's a smart buy for the price.
Really like this small batch. Sweet and spicy, with caramel, vanilla, tobacco, and oak notes.
Very taste with a slow burn. oaky sweetness is delightful.
Take a bottle of Noah's Mill and water it down and I think you'd end up with Rowan's Creek. Both are good, this one gives a bit more rye.
I did not care for this. Spicy in a weird way.
Tastes like red hots, ginger snaps and has some astringency. Disappointed.
I'm new to the small batch bourbon. This one does not disappoint. Strong but smooth. I shall keep this one in my rotation.
First bourbon I have ever tried, I have always been a scotch drinker, has a sweet taste and smooth, don't get me wrong it does have a very nice fire going down but very drinkable. I am giving it a 90 out of 100 for now because I have nothing to compare it to bourbon wise.
Surprisingly smooth, easy to drink.
very nice drinker. glad I decided to try it out. strong yet smooth and delicious
for 100 proof it remains smooth. The burn its smooth and refreshing at the same time. This to me is a bourbon that can really sneak up on you, especially like last night at the fire pit.
