The Glenrothes' whiskies carry the classic Speyside "pear drop" character, and are mainly matured in Spanish ex-Sherry casks and/or ex-Bourbon casks. The Glenrothes Distillery was founded in 1878 and is owned by the Scottish Edrington Group.
