Grassy malt, caramel, butterscotch and a light fruit lazily make their way out of the glass followed by some nice lemony citrus and a touch of spice. There is a hint of wood and some coppery undertones from the single pot still. From the nose alone it’s easy to tell that there’s a good amount of single pot still in this whiskey.

PALATE
Caramel, toffee, malt and a pronounced fruit work their way across the palate. Some nice warm woody notes pick up and the spice from the nose morphs into being more cinnamon driven with a tiny bit of vanilla and lemony citrus. Like on the nose some coppery notes come through and it’s easy to taste that wonderful single pot still character.

FINISH
Big malty ending mixed with fruit and wood that goes on and on.

BALANCE, BODY & FEEL
Good balance with a full body and a soft creamy texture.

One of my first Irish Whiskey's, and was my 2020 and 2019 Saint Patty's day Irish Whiskey's, so Im making it one of my 2021 Irish Whiskey's and review it. Coming in at 40% Abv. and aged in charred oak barrels. This is good but not out of this world, Id prefer this over Jameson but its not Redbreast level.

Irish whiskey with a bourbon flair. It's just a bit oaky on the nose, with some fruits, floral notes, and a bit of barley. On the palate, it's oily and slightly rich,, with hints of cereal grains, bitter chocolate, and some bourbon spiciness from the extra barrel charring. It also has a hint of sherry to it. It finishes relatively short. The barrel spice is strongest in the finish, but once it diminishes, the finish is gone. Of the few Irish whiskeys I've tasted, so far this is the favorite.

Hey the description is wrong. There's no sherry cask in the black barrel.
They simply used more charred bourbon casks - they managed to do something very good.

N: very fruity and pleasant. Apricots. And here it is, a pleasant mamão perfume (papaya) that brought me back to when I was in Brasil. What an happy memory.

M: creamy, fruity. I had an aphthae on the palate so it was a bit rough (on the other parts of the mouth was gentle, so I think that in normal conditions it should be ok). Anyway there's a touch of smoke that I think it comes from the charred casks.

F: long, fruity and oaky. A classic one.
