This whiskey just confirmed to me, that "Irish single pot still" is my best. Brilliant combination of spices with sweetness. Significant honey notes, lot of creamy vanilla, butterscotch, milk chocolate, creme brulee, lovely fruitiness /ripe oranges, peaches, caramelized apples, hint of tropical fruit/, different variations of spices - especially nutmeg, touch of oakiness. Long sweet and spicy finish. Full body and complex. Delicious sweet dessert. Beautiful dram, I love this unique Irish style of whiskey production - mixture of malted and unmalted barley.

Well, I keep drinking these drams too fast to take decent notes. Extremely drinkable. Love the mix of short bread, sweet Malaga wine notes and spices. I believe I’ll have another.

Nose

vanilla. maybe honey. surprised that I am not getting much more...so I guess it's a subtle nose. has a mead like smell

Palate

VERY smooth. oily. honey. little heat. bitterness at the back of the tongue. the mouth coating stays and is consistent start to end. I'm lacking good descriptors on the this first tasting...but I know I am in love already. sweet, not too sweet. Sweet is cut by that awesome bitterness that finishes it

Finish

mouth oily coating lasts. slight heat gets stronger as you wait after the swallow, but it's not intense at all. sweetness leaves quick, replaced by bitter. heat and mouth feel last longer than the flavours. I am saying medium overall... blending to long.

Yellow Spot 12 Jahre ist für mich ein toller Vertreter der typischen Potstill-Whiskeys con der grünen Insel. Ein angenehm weicher und uugänglicher Whiskey, den ich vor allem als Sommerwhiskey sehr gerne trinke.

Nose

Süsse Aromen, Honig und Caramel, dazu eine holzige Note, die mit der Süsse kontrastiert

Palate

Angenehm dichte Konsistenz und trotzdem leicht in der Aromatik

Die Honigsüsse bleibt bestehen, wird aber mit fruchtigen Aromen und Vanille ergänzt, dazu kommen Ingwer und etwas grüner Pfeffer

Sehr rundes Geschmacksbild

Finish

Leichte Aromen dominieren, die Würze verflüchtigt soch schnell und macht Platz für Honig, Caramel und Vanille

Vanilla from the bourbon influence and oranges from the sherry are evident on the nose. Smooth and sweet palate with a slight pleasant bitterness reminding me of coffee beans. Grapes are noticeable on the finish. The sweetness isn't overbearing and doesn't take away from its complexity. Very good with great character.
