not so sweet in the nose but a long honey finish
Very smooth and simple. Unsurprising, unchallenging, but enjoyable and very drinkable, either to sip, or with a bit of ice.
dry and light
herbal aroma. basic, flat alcohol taste on the tongue. herbal aftertaste. drink neat...if on the rocks you lose basically all of the very subtle flavor. the flavor that does come through doesnt taste like a bourbon to me.
Nose: sweet almond Heather, hints of black cherry, cinnamon/allspice/black pepper
Palate: maple-caramel malt and big sweet oak, clover, beautiful herbal / horehound candy, grainy vanilla.
This is impressively smooth, no burn, lots of grain and herbal sweetness, that’s a no brainer for the price. Finish is somewhat weak. Not a strong palate pleaser but easy to like in my opinion.
This came off as a light easy sipper. Delicate and smooth. But for me it lacked depth.
Brown sugar, hint of fruit, not powerful
Nutty, hint of bread, caramel
Nutty, cracker Jack, citrus
Slightly herbal nose. Very pleasant texture with light hints of caramel, pepper, and mint. Medium short, dry finish. Nice, interesting sipper.
Smooth and sweet with some well rounded spice. Artfully constructed.
I liked this a lot. I will definitely keep a bottle in my collection. I do think it could be $5-$7 cheaper though, although it does seem to go on sale a lot and then is well worth it.
Oak, caramel and sour but my mind kept going back and forth between citrus sour or green apple sour.
Definitely improved with a little time to breath. Then the bitterness turned in to a delicious cinnamon/rye/pepper spice and more time on my tongue gave way to the sweet caramel/vanilla
Not super long but not so short as to be disappointing by any means. Great spice hangs around
Really lovely Bourbon with citrus and vanilla. A little bit of smoke.
Smooth rounded bourbon. Sweet finish with a little spice.
Opens with citrus & vanilla. A bit of smokiness with a little sugar later. Spicy finish.
lovely bourbon, middle of the road but a quality drinker! I paid €50, twenty cheaper and it would be well worth it!
sweet but spicy, cinnamon, pepper, liquorice. then old leather and oak.
super spicy, white pepper, cayenne pepper, hot sauce. then a little sweetness, sweet cherries, strawberries oddly. with water the spice is still there but some sourness comes through.
decent finish, that spice lingers.
another one I look at, have never bought..taste test while out.. not a bad dram at all.
nice notes of cinnamon and vanilla, woodsey, spicey in the back,
thinner mouth feel, slightly oily, nice hit of vanilla and cinnamon at first... spicey bite to follow. very pleasant on the palat
as the flavors fade, left with a woodsey/earthy finish
Surprisingly dissatisfied with this one. Mostly pepper in the nose and taste with more spice and bite than expected for the proof. I'll give the bottle another try, but so far this doesn't earn a return appearance in my cupboard.
Peppery and Leather
Peppercorn and spice.
Spice and rye.
Definitely a smoother bourbon. Known to have more rye than most it definitely softens the usual bourbon finish.
A solid bourbon worth another try. April 2019 Texas RRP €69
Solid whiskey. smooth but has still has an enjoyable bite.
Great mid seasons whisky with lots of complexity. Rises to the level of satisfied with just one dram. Intense flavors give way to morning coffee flavor as a semi-dry finish.
Sharp Sherry Bourbon
5 minutes air time
hot rye burn, wet, rose, chamomile, sweet paprika, medium menthol burn (almost makes your nose run), sherry, sweet basil medium burn, red grapes, sweet potato, buttered corn, Carmel, tannin, dry, cinnamon mild burn, wet, jasmine,
7 minutes ride
Great beginner bourbon as a gift for a new whiskey collector.
Smells like bourbon.
Smooth and a bit thin.
Cinnamon and spice, but not hot or overpowering.
A tasty bourbon that also has an herby rye touch top it. Fairly smooth.
I really wanted to like this bourbon but it is just not for me. I usually like the Beam offerings but there were no discernable Beam notes that I could detect. I am not saying that this is bad or swill but the notes that are present are just not my notes. I can easily see how the expert rating is low while the user rating reflects a greater love for BH. This either fits your tastes or it doesn't.
Spicy, strong cinnamon, certainly not my favorite bourbon.
smell grain and light dirt. sweet but not syrup sweet.
Smooth beginner bourbon.
nice and spicy
weak flavor but great to give as a gift.
Very smooth. Not bold or complex but a good sipper. Nose is the best part
Woody cinnamon, caramel, honey roasted peanuts
Smooth, oily mouth feel, vanilla, nutty, light
Light standard bourbon. Easy drinker.
Typical corn character with vanilla and solvent. Warm and glowing.
Quite sweet and smooth. A little bitter, too. Grassy, slightly fruity with blueberry and orange peel. Oily mouthfeel.
Medium peppery finish.
not the most exciting whiskey but an easy sipper.
Good to go bourbon. Balanced oak, vanilla, spice, I tasted pepper, and caramel.
solid, balanced notes of vanilla, caramel, oak and spice
not bad. gift.
Dry lite bourbon, bit of sweet and spice and bitter taste, ended with dark chocolate, nothing to much
easy drinker anytime. def a go-to.
This is my go to bourbon. It's easy to find and even easier to drink.
A solid Bourbon. Sweet with a touch of oak, and a little kick at the end (surprising due to the low alcohol content)
Oakey, with a touch of smoke that's nice. still got the sweetness to make it less harsh. Wish it was smoother.
Good. Nothing remarkable.
