General description

Somewhat bland and ordinary tasting. It was my first Macallan bottle, and a huge disappointment. No traces of sherry casks or any other casks. Not bad, but nothing memorable.

General description

I saw this 40% Macallan Triple Cask very cheap here on holiday in Spain. But before i deceided to buy it, i remembered that i brought a sample of this one with me.
So let's give it a try.

Nosing was a lot sharper than expected with it's 40%. Behind the sharpnes the usual Macallan sherry and sweet red fruits are detectable besides a bourbony banana and canned bread.

The tasting again has a bourbony banana and a lot of oak, but lacked smoothness. Very disappointing here.

The medium teethcovering oily finish shows some sherry and walnut and is the strongest part of this one.
But it didn't convince me to buy this one for the 54€ I saw it for sale here.
Back home this one goes for 80€/70cl.
Maybe I'll go for the double cask that's also a lot cheaper around here.

Again Macallan dissapointed me. I think it's products are just not my cup of tea.

74 points.
