General description

Bought from an airport so could be Overproof but I found this a terrible sipping whiskey as it has too much of a peppery taste up front. relegated to being put into a penecilin cocktail since.

My first Oban, not what I expected. Nice dram, but not outstanding. Pepper noted on part of the pallet but not a full mouth feel. At the end the us a slight hint of oak. ABV is good level too. I would like to try other expressions from Oban based on this one.

General description

The nose is very close to Oban 14, a bit of candied lemon peel and ginger, salted caramel. Very thin body, floral notes at first followed by a ton of black pepper on the palate and some char on the finish along with ginger that lasts for about 15 to 20 seconds. Not a smooth as Oban 14 but still decent. Good bottle for a collector to pick up, but for the same price or lower the 14 is better.
