sfeer port taste
Port influence shows on the nose; sweetness coats the mouth; good medium finish
nice easy scotch
lovely port, sweet red fruit, nutmeg spice. on the nose.
on the palate smooth liquorice and spice.
full and spicy on the finish
nose: fruity, vanilla and caramel
pallet: rich spicy sweetness some oak
finish: very long peppery and woody, a little dark chocolate in the end
a very, very nice whisky
I was very surprised to find this on the shelf for a little over US$50. I snapped up two bottles and i'm so glad i did. But I was driven more by the surprise of seeing a Glenmorangie offering i had not seen before more than the value price. The nose has a heavy influence of port with added scents of wild berries and tangerines. Taste is smooth and sweet with nutmeg and dark chocolate added to the port wine notes carried over from the nose. Finish is medium to long and slightly tart, probably from the port wine influence. Well done Glenmorangie for finishing off in port casks!
Wild berries, tangerines, grapes, wine.
Smooth and sweet with heavy influence of port wine; slightly fruity with notes of nutmeg and dark chocolate.
Medium to long but not very long. Slightly sour and unusually tart probably from the wine.
Initially surprised at the alcohol forward arrival but once that shock wore off the rest of the experience was absolutely delicious. Beautiful port notes, mouth watering dried fruits. Good complexity and a very enjoyable long finish. I am dreaming of this dram with a nice cigar after a good meal.
