Lagavulin, which is Gaelic for "hollow by the mill", is a Scotch whisky distillery, located in Lagavulin on the island of Islay, Scotland. The distillery is owned by Diageo. International Spirit ratings competitions have given Lagavulin's spirits extremely high scores, with remarkably good ratings for the 16-year old single malt in particular.

General description

Peaty, but not pungent. Oceanic salinity on the nose, sweet on the tongue. Finish fades quicker than I'd like for a big Islay. Would rather get a higher proof or 16 for cheaper.
